The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the sanitation and sterilization of animal caging systems that are required to maintain a high-level rodent colony health program.

+ In accordance with manufacturer and department standard operating procedures, operates mechanical cage wash equipment, including automation, tunnel, rack, high pressure autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers, and automatic bedding dispensing units including the SureFlo (bedding removal system) and SureVac (vacuum system).
+ Removes, receives, and dumps/scrapes soiled rodent cages and water bottles in preparation for washing.
+ Handles, stores, and prepares clean materials that have been processed through cage wash equipment.
+ Fills sanitized water bottles with reverse osmosis (RO) water from RO water filling stations when needed.
+ Prepares clean cage set ups for animal care staff. Use of, cleaning, and maintenance of SureVac system as needed.
+ Maintains chemical mixing stations including filling and preparation of chemicals. Provides animal care staff with clean forceps and containers to fill with properly mixed chemicals daily.
+ Handles, dumps, removes and packages chemical or biohazard treated bedding and debris at the ABSL1, 2 levels and chemical hazard 1, 2 levels. Removal of carcasses and packaging weekly required.
+ Maintains clean and orderly cage wash areas (clean and dirty sides). Performs routine sanitation of walls, ceilings, floors, cage wash equipment (stainless steel polish) and storage racks in both cage wash areas and sterile holding areas. Responsible for routine removal of recycling, soiled material, and trash to designated holding area and dumpster daily.
+ Monitors environmental changes in cage wash areas and reporting deviations to ST II, Supervisor, or Manager. Responsible for immediately reporting mechanical problems to senior or lead sanitation technicians, Sanitation supervisor, and/or management whenever equipment is not working properly.
+ Completes daily floor decontamination including use of electronic floor machine scrubber.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum Experience:
None required, 1-year working in an accredited/ non-accredited laboratory animal facility and/or veterinarian technician program preferred. English reading, writing and computer skills are required.
License/Certification/Registration:
AALAS technician certification at the ALAT level is preferred but not required.

**Pay Transparency Statement**
The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

**Essential Functions:**
+ You will implement sanitation assurance programs including pest control and plant regulatory compliance
+ Complete cleaning tasks throughout all phases of the sanitation process

Sanitation TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a permanent fulltime dedicated Sanitation Technician to join our team. In this essential role, you'll be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Your work will directly support the quality and safety of our products.
Key Responsibilities
+ Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all production equipment.
+ Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning.
+ Use cleaning chemicals responsibly and in accordance with safety guidelines.
+ Complete logs, reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
+ Experience in food manufacturing and sanitation.
+ Knowledge of HACCP and GMP standards.
+ Familiarity with FDA regulations.
+ Ability to work independently and meet exacting standards.
+ Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
+ Sanitation-related certifications are a plus.

Schedule is Sunday through Thursday 10pm to 6am

**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
The Sanitation Utility is a valuable role for any food manufacturing business. Our Sanitation Utilities perform essential work cleaning and sanitizing our non-production areas and other parts of our facilities to ensure safe and edible product is produced consistent with food safety standards. This role performs strenuous work to ensure the non-production areas are clean.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Perform sanitation responsibilities and complete thorough cleaning of all areas assigned; maintain master sanitation schedule, best practices, and follow sanitation checklist to complete daily, weekly, and monthly tasks; including restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, entrances, locker rooms, offices, and laboratory
+ Practice appropriate safety procedures when performing work assignments; observe and follow appropriate safety practices as outlined by standard operating procedures and safety expectations
+ Stock cleaning supplies and paper goods in order to maintain proper inventory levels. Assist other department personnel if chemicals or cleaning equipment are needed
+ Check rodent traps, and pheromone traps on a weekly basis to help monitor pest activity throughout the facility. Proactively report any signs of infestations to your supervisor.
+ Monitor and report all product protection issues as they arise (ex: glass objects in production area that could contaminate product or falling dust into product, etc.), and report any maintenance needs immediately to QA Supervisor or the maintenance department to help monitor the general condition of the facility
+ Sanitation Utilities are required to clean up blood stains or spills in the event of an accident or injury that takes place on company property
+ Other duties, as assigned
**Education and Experience Required** **:**
+ Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
**Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:**
+ Previous manufacturing experience
+ Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
**Physical Requirements:** Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:
+ Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds and anything over will require team lifting techniques or the use of mechanical lifting devices
+ Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment 6+ hours per shift
+ Must be able to sit, stoop, reach above shoulders and climb and work off ladder/stairs for 3+hours per shift
+ Must be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for 6+ hours per shift
+ Must be able to stand, and walk for 8+ hours per shift
+ Must be able to perform simple grasping, and push/pull for 8+ hours per shift
+ Must be able to perform fine manipulation for 3+ hours per shift
+ Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written work and distinguish object or equipment visually

**JOB SUMMARY**
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe Facility/Warehouse environment. Performs the job following Preferred Work Methods (PWM).
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Remove all trash and debris from the warehouse and dock areas.
+ Clean up any spills of product or other foreign matter.
+ Operate power scrubber, sweeper walk behind scrubber and other warehouse equipment.
+ Clean warehouse walls, floors, racking, doors, etc.
+ Clean facility building, grounds, lighting, parking lots, etc.
+ Sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, and locker rooms.
+ Follow the daily schedule as assigned by the supervisor to ensure a continuous sanitation maintenance program.
+ Maintain the warehouse in a clean and safe working environment.
+ Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**
+ High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent.
**Experience**
+ Previous sanitation experience within a warehouse environment, highly preferred.
