The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

The SAP Licensing Analyst is responsible for ensuring SAP software usage complies with licensing agreements and managing associated costs. This involves analyzing software deployments, understanding licensing terms, and implementing strategies to optimize usage and minimize expenses. The Licensing Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate licensing records, supporting audits, and advising on purchasing decisions to help optimize our SAP investments and ensure we are getting the most value from our software licenses. The SAP landscape is constantly evolving, so staying up-to-date with the latest licensing models and best practices is essential.
What you will do:
- Effectively manage SAP software licenses, ensure compliance, and optimize costs. Overseeing the entire lifecycle of SAP software licenses, from procurement to renewal. Acting as a guardian of the SAP software assets, balancing cost efficiency with legal compliance.
- Ensuring the organization adheres to all terms and conditions outlined in SAP license agreements.
- Managing SAP user accounts and authorizations to ensure compliance with licensing terms
- Work with security on roles within SAP to ensure we don't have excessive licensing usage
- Identifying opportunities to reduce licensing costs through efficient usage, consolidation, or renegotiation.
- Analyzing software usage data to identify potential over-licensing or under-utilization.
- Preparing reports on licensing status, compliance, and cost savings for management.
- Collaborating with various teams, including IT, procurement, and legal, to address licensing-related matters.
- Providing expert guidance on SAP licensing best practices and strategic purchasing decisions.
Hybrid Office Environment. Some travel to other MLA sites to support Project Implementations or Business Meetings and Initiatives.
Qualifications
What you need to have:
- Associates Degree
- 2-7 years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP). Including familiarity with their functionalities and how they interact with the SAP ecosys
- Familiarity with different SAP licensing models, including user-based, processor-based, and engine-based licenses
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and generate reports to support licensing decisions using tools like SQL, Excel, & SAP reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in SAP licensing models, and familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices
- Understanding how to manage licenses in cloud environments and ensuring compliance with SAP's licensing terms and conditions
- Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including technical teams, business users, and management
- Must be able to analyze complex licensing situations, identify potential issues, and propose solutions
- May be involved in projects related to SAP license optimization, upgrades, or migrations, requiring project management skills
- Basic ABAP knowledge can be helpful for understanding how SAP systems work and for customizing reports.

The salary for this position ranges from $76,000 to $108,000 annually. The specific salary for a successful candidate will depend upon, among other legitimate factors, education, training, and/or experience.

As an IT/SAP Business Analyst, you will collaborate with the Transformation Office and SAP team to represent Specialtys business processes.
