This is a pivotal role for an experienced analytics professional who wants to shape the future of business intelligence at scale. You'll be instrumental in establishing our Power BI practice , creating frameworks that enable self-service analytics, and mentoring business stakeholders to become sophisticated BI practitioners. Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Business Intelligence in Development and University Relations (DAUR), the Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated enterprise-level reporting solutions. This position leverages expertise in WebFOCUS and other leading BI platforms such as Argos and Cognos to meet complex business intelligence needs.
The incumbent will partner with the Senior Associate Director of Business Intelligence to create and enhance custom WebFOCUS reports, monitor and tune queries, and participate in business and technical discussions with leadership and end-users to ensure high-quality WebFOCUS reporting solutions.
Essential Functions
Assists with designing, developing, and implementing WebFOCUS reporting solutions using App Studio, Developer Studio, and ReportCaster.
Develops standard reports and ad-hoc reports, as well as complex data extracts using MS SQL and Oracle data sources to support strategic and operational needs.
Participates in functional, technical, and user acceptance testing efforts and resolves defects to ensure solutions are flawless.
Researches and tests other operational data reporting solutions to expand current reporting capabilities.
Helps maintain and refine the existing WebFOCUS report inventory and data extract programs to meet evolving analytics needs, identifying other BI platforms where appropriate.
Gathers and documents requirements for major new reporting development projects.
Helps create and maintain reporting best practices and standards documentation.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of DAUR business requirements, specifications, and practices to guide BI/analytics development projects.

Job Description:
We're looking for a data-driven and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to help us turn complex construction data into clear, actionable insights. In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain compelling dashboards and visualizations using Power BI (or similar BI tools) to support field operations, project management, and executive decision-making across our construction portfolio.
You'll work closely with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate raw data into clear, actionable insights. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for presenting data in intuitive and impactful ways.
This role will be on-site in Westerville, OH and sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI, or similar tools, to track construction KPIs, including cost performance, schedule adherence, productivity, safety metrics, and resource utilization.
- Write and optimize DAX expressions to support calculated columns, measures, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and operations leads to define reporting requirements and deliver user-friendly insights.
- Build and refine SQL queries to extract data from various systems (e.g., ERP, project management software, field data collection tools).
- Ensure data quality and consistency across all reports and dashboards.
- Support ad hoc analysis and help non-technical users interpret and use data effectively.
- Work with data engineers to improve data models and pipelines for reporting purposes.
- (Bonus) Experience with Palantir Foundry to integrate data sources and create operational workflows and visualizations.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query (M).
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational data models.
- Experience translating business needs into technical solutions, especially within project-based industries like construction.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in the construction industry or adjacent sectors (e.g., engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing)
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.
- Exposure to data governance, performance tuning, or data pipeline development.
