SAIC is seeking an Electro-optical (EO) Satellite Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support the NRO Electro-Optical System Program Office (ESPO). Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated electro-optical satellite experience and be able to provide technical and programmatic insight on the wide variety of satellite capabilities & activities. The successful candidate will work both independently and in a team-based environment.
Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Directly support ESPO as the office responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, integration & test, and launch & initialization of Electro-Optical satellites for the NRO.
+ Assist in managing requirements development, flow-down and traceability. Assist with ensuring compliance to interfaces and standards or ensure appropriate deviations/waivers are in place.
+ Evaluate system and subsystem designs, as necessary, to determine if the design is adequate to meet program requirements.
+ Participate in assessing power, weight, cooling and other space vehicle design constraints as the design matures through its phases. Identify technical design risks and support development of corrective action plans.
+ Participate in Failure Review Boards (FRBs) to troubleshoot and resolve anomalies and test failures. Develop mitigation plans and identify impacts to subsystem, spacecraft, and mission performance.
+ Assist with acquisition planning, documentation, and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) evaluations. Assist, as needed, in Government source selections and the technical evaluation of satellite provider proposals.
+ Work in an interactive team environment with Government customer leads, commercial satellite developers, and other subject matter experts.
**Qualifications**
+ BS in Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar technical discipline
+ 5 years experience working on electro-optical satellite programs and have a solid understanding of various satellite flight sciences (reliability, power, power, weight, cooling, maintainability, etc.)
+ Have strong familiarity with electro-optical system & subsystem functionality, performance, and product data.

This position is for a Satellite Systems Software Engineer for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Satellite Systems Software Engineer must possess and have successfully demonstrated satellite engineering experience. Requires excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. The Satellite Systems Software Engineer will partner with multi-Agency and multi-Contractor team of system engineers and subject matter experts to effectively plan, organize, and execute all activities across the system life cycle.
This position is onsite at the satellite developer's factory in Seal Beach, California and requires routine 1-2 day travel to integration sites in California and New Mexico.
The Satellite Systems Software Engineer provides leadership and technical support that may include, but are not limited to the following:
**Role Responsibilities:**
+ Directly contribute to the Government's mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership, and proactive system engineering activities.
+ Analyze designs and software engineering practices that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards.
+ Assists with reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems.

**Qualifications**
+ Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
+ Bachelors and 9 years of relevant experience; OR Masters and 7 years of relevant experience.
+ Government or Commercial experience.
+ 4+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system.
+ Expert in embedded software system architecture, design, integration and test.
+ Knowledge of orbital mechanics and utility of different orbits.
+ Expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for customer and provides analysis and recommendations.
+ Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
+ Polished communicator (written and verbal) with highly effective interpersonal skills and personal judgement.

ALTA IT Services is staffing a direct hire opening for a senior, hands-on Principal Satellite Systems Engineer to serve as the chief architect for our client's cutting-edge User Terminal (UT) products. This is a critical individual contributor role for a subject matter expert (SME) who is passionate about designing complex SATCOM systems from the ground up.
This role will suit an expert with a proven track record of long-term, impactful contributions in the
commercial SATCOM space to join our client's core team. The primary focus will be on system architecture and design, not just system testing. The role will have technical authority responsible for the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept to final validation, and partner with Senior Leadership on all the technical aspects within this role.
CLARIFICATION OF NEEDS:
The ideal candidate should focus on:
System architecture and design in SATCOM, not just system test.
+ Requirement definition, flow-down, and test planning at multiple architecture levels (RF, electrical, software).
+ Experience as an individual contributor (not management).
+ At least 10 years of experience.
+ Commercial/private enterprise background, not government contractors.
+ Management responsibilities: Individual contributor role; will have tasks and problem-solving leadership, plus expected to coach and mentor less experienced engineers.

What Does This Position Architect?
+ End-to-End System Design: The role will drive the architectural vision for UTs, leading critical tradeoff analyses across hardware, firmware, and software. Their expertise will shape everything from Ku and Ka-band phased array chipsets and antenna architectures to novel, fast antenna calibration methodologies.
+ SME-Level Requirements Management: The role will own the complete requirements lifecycle. This includes defining top-level system requirements, meticulously flowing them down through multiple architectural levels (RF, electrical, and software), and architecting the corresponding integration, test, and validation plans to ensure absolute design integrity.
+ Cross-Functional Technical Leadership: The role will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, providing the expert guidance needed to develop and productize a diverse portfolio of UT products for our enterprise and commercial customers.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
+ Seeking a proven SATCOM Architect: 10+ years of progressive experience, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates expertise in architecting and designing complex satellite communication systems.
+ Hands-On Technical Expert with a passion for technical details. The principal engineer will thrive as a senior individual contributor and is not seeking a people management track.
+ Commercial & Enterprise Focus: Strong background in developing products for the

SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer with 5 to 7 years of systems engineering experience to provide Data Management and Design Review Workflow oversight for an advanced NRO satellite acquisition program. This position also involves dynamic support to other aspects of the systems engineering life-cycle (architecture studies, requirements management, design studies, integration & test, and launch & initialization activities).
The position is in Chantilly, VA involving work within the Intelligence Community that primarily focuses on Data Management of large volumes of engineering deliverables from a space vehicle prime development contractor _._ The primary role also involves managing and overseeing systems engineering design review process workflows in JIRA. The successful applicant will work directly with multiple government customers in a program office of approximately 100 personnel (government, SETA, and FFRDC) and interact with members of the development contractor's team.
**Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**
+ Monitor and track contract deliverables and engineering data items from the development contractor and the timely review/approval by the government program office.
+ Develop and/or maintain a data collaboration tool (e.g., MS Access, SharePoint, Enterprise Management and Consolidation of CDRLs (EMC2)) for access to the data items and tracking issues or approvals for each.
+ Manage the receipt, dissemination, review and approval of artifacts associated with major program reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, PSR).
+ Draft and coordinate timely Contracting Officer letters to the prime contractor indicating acceptability of contract deliverables.
+ Utilize Confluence experience to create content and manage multiple system engineering Confluence pages.
+ Utilize JIRA experience to create, manage, edit, and resolve workflow issues in JIRA (action item tracking, engineering review processes, etc.).
+ Provide backup configuration management (CM) oversight to government and contractor activities.
+ Organize and/or facilitate live virtual meetings across multiple sites via IC-Connect.
+ Provide broad program systems engineering support including, but not limited to: trade studies, requirements management, modeling and analysis, space vehicle integration, system-level and enterprise-level test, launch, and operations.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and nine years or more experience; Masters and seven or more experience; PhD and four years or more experience.
+ Experience using data management systems for government programs across multiple platforms and networks.
+ Experience with Confluence & JIRA applications including creating/maintaining/troubleshooting/using process workflows.
+ Ability to develop and/or tailor tools (in Excel, Access, SharePoint) to track status of government program office review of large volumes of contractor-generated engineering data items.
+ Familiar with systems engineering fundamentals (CM, requirements verification, program reviews).
+ Ability to work without significant supervision.
+ Ability to communicate and coordinate information to senior leadership and various stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills.
+ Current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
