**What does this role look like?**
Examples of daily tasking include but are not limited to:

**Basic Qualifications:**
- Experience working in a 24x7 mission operations environment
- Active DOD 8570/8140 certification such as Security+ or equivalent, and the ability to maintain it throughout the life span of the position.
- Experience in operation of command and control (C2) ground systems related to satellite and ground station operations.
- Ability to support 24/7, 365 operations with On-Call availability to respond on-site within two hours.
- Network analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
- Effective communicator with strong oral and written communications skills with ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to move, rack, stack and install physical equipment by lifting up to 50 lbs.
**Desired Skills:**
- Previous Experience on Mojave/Death Valley or related programs
- Ground station communications, configuration, operation, and/or fault isolation experience
- Experience with WhatsUp Gold, VMware ESXI, or other infrastructure monitoring software and interfaces
- Familiarity with classified security best practices, STIG compliance, and Privileged User responsibilities

**Pay Rate:** The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

+ Review internal or external requirements for satellite systems; refine or generate appropriate system-level requirements
+ Analyze, model, and simulate candidate designs.
+ Develop system level algorithms such as for power control, timing and frequency synchronization.

+ Analyze system requirements and develop system architectures for RF and baseband subsystems.
+ Develop subsystem requirements, specifications and technical evaluations
+ Conduct link budgets analyses, block and signal level analyses, and, trade off studies
+ Analyze RF performance and conduct simulations and measurements to determine signal integrity, crosstalk, coupling, noise, insertion loss, return loss.
+ Develop algorithms for calibration of antenna subsystems in fixed and mobile user terminal installations
+ Develop constellation modeling and analyses for LEO/MEO/GEO satellite systems and conduct analyses against regulatory masks.
+ Document detailed designs and present them internally and to external customers
**Requirements:**
+ BSEE in electrical engineering with emphasis on signal analyses and RF/microwave engineering
+ 15+ years expertise in communications systems theory and analysis including link budgets, signal propagation, phase noise, EVM, non-linear effects, etc.
+ 5+ experience using analytical skills and modeling skills for performance in LEO/MEO/GEO systems (LEO is a plus).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ MSEE in electrical engineering with emphasis on signal analyses and RF/microwave engineering
+ Ph.D. in electrical engineering with emphasis on signal analyses and RF/microwave engineering
+ Familiarity with 5G NR-NTN standards.
+ Knowledge of satellite system architectures (LEO, GEO, MEO).

The NMOS Team is looking for a Satellite Systems Crew Chief (SCCH).
The SCCH must be able to perform the Satellite Systems Operator (SSO) and Ground Control Operator (GCO) functions, after being trained. The SCCH oversees the SSO and GCO while performing satellite operations.
The SSO portion of the SCCH job will perform all commanding and State of Health (SOH) activities for one or more space assets and provide real-time evaluation of the satellite TT&C application while also being able to perform the following SSO functions: configure and monitor the TT&C application for proper monitoring of all satellites supporting the NGG mission; monitor the satellite telemetry for proper vehicle performance; evaluate TT&C alarms for possible anomalous conditions onboard the satellites and report any abnormal findings; perform all satellite commanding for daily operations as approved by the SCCH or Space Force customer; and coordinate with the GCO for the configuration of ground hardware for satellite commanding.
The GCO portion of the SCCH job provides the technical capability in the area of Ground Control (GC) and will configure and maintain the GC application while also being able to perform the following GCO functions: perform all ground system activities; conduct positional changeover; configure ground system assets to maintain mission operations; inform the SCCH of upcoming scheduled activities or maintenance; monitor ground software/hardware status; provide ground status to the appropriate operational team members; perform Fault Detection Fault Isolation (FDFI) recovery actions when required; provide real-time configuration changes to prohibit data interruptions; notify the SCCH of all ground system reconfigurations and problems; support playbacks for analysis; conduct Satellite Control Network and Relay Ground Station supports to collect satellite positional information; and, resolve real-time scheduling conflicts in coordination with the SCCH.
