Titan Industrial Metal is a growing metal recycler looking for a Scale House Specialist that can work in a fast paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary.
Job Description Summary
The Scale House Specialist is responsible for all facets of our operations including processing all inbound and outbound transactions. The duties include, but are not limited to, recording weights in a computerized weighing system, running reports, processing check and cash payments, answering phones, and filing.
Job Description
Inspect paperwork and loads for inbound and outbound trucks. Enter all information into computer. Monitors and records vehicle gross, tare and net weights.
Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets and other reports, as assigned.
Review public transactions and process cash payments.
Communicates with dispatch and truck drivers to accurately record paperwork.
Works with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure swift work when materials arrive.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent required.
Computer Skills and the ability to operate a 10-key calculator are required.
Accurately count money and calculate change.
Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner and to follow safety policies and procedures.
Willingness to learn how to: identify metal types, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience working with computerized scale systems and other similar software and equipment.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
Flexible and can handle multiple tasks
Detail-oriented and concern for quality
Cash handling experience preferred
Prior experience in the recycling industry is preferred
Associates degree or some college courses preferred.

Eye/hand coordination, fingering (typing), handling, & wrist motion continuously.

Job Description
Provides timely and accurate tickets to customers ensuring the smooth flow of traffic across the scale. Assists in the coordination of truck dispatch orders to ensure maximum efficiency of trucking.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
• Provides excellent customer support to internal and external customers.
• Ensure that all COD order money is collected and properly documented. Prepare deposit bags in accordance with company policies.
• Ensures that tickets are verified for numbers, dated and time accuracy and ensure that customer trucks (internal and external customers) leave the yard properly loaded.
• Ensures that safety, compliance, environmental and DOT requirements are followed at all times.
• Coordinates truck dispatch to jobs with orders received from Dispatch Office and operates computer to produce appropriate customer tickets. Verifies tickets for numbers, date and time accuracy. Collects COD money and properly records it.
• Sends transaction register and ticket copies to main office on daily basis. Transfers all files and tickets transfer files at least twice daily. Answers phones and takes accurate messages for others in their absence.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Required Training/Certifications: Weigh Master License may be required in some states
Required Technical Skills : Basic computer skills and understanding of hardware/software
Additional Requirements :
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
