OVERVIEW:
This position is at East High School and is 37.5 hours per week/11 months per year.
The Chemical Dependency Prevention Counselor is responsible for providing school-based crisis intervention, prevention counseling (individual, family and group) and case management services to youth. The Counselor provides support for problem solving as well as information and referral services. S/he is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments with the student that may identify any issues related to substance use/abuse, problem gambling and other risk factors that inhibit healthy youth development. Based upon assessment, the Counselor will develop an Individual Service Plan with a youth that includes the direct services provided by the Counselor, school staff, as well as referral linkages to other community agencies and school services. The Counselor will work with faculty, staff and collaborative partner agencies to assure quality services are provided. The Counselor will attend school meetings, referral meetings, and when appropriate, school events. They will maintain a professional relationship with faculty, staff and partnering agencies. The Counselor will also coordinate and facilitate groups, workshops and trainings as needed and requested.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Counselor to join our team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality counseling services with a focus on substance use and mental health disorder treatment.

· Provide education to family members and facilitate family involvement in clients’ recovery/withdrawal management, when needed, with their consent.
· Complete accurate and timely documentation in electronic record according to established standards and monitor documentation for compliance with state/agency/federal regulations.
· Complete and submit incident reports when appropriate in accordance to state/agency guidelines.
· Participate in QA and QI activities as assigned. Ensure the timely completion of out of compliance items. Conduct Peer review when assigned.
· Participate in clinical supervision.
· Facilitate training activities for interns from colleges and universities as assigned.
· Administer medications to clients as needed, per providers orders, in absence of or along with nurse (training required).
· Complete UDS screenings as needed.
· Adhere to professional standards as outlined by applicable governing boards, code of ethics, protocols, and rules and regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training Required:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or another field approved by the NCASPPB.
- Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS/LCAS-A) is preferred.
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or LCMHC-A, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LCSW-A preferred.
- Must be licensed & dual license is a significant plus.
- Minimum of two years of counseling experience.
- A concentration in substance use disorder treatment and mental health treatment is preferred.

School Year Typical Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Summer Typical Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (subject to change based on need)

Daily/Weekly Responsibilities:
Travel to approximately one school each day to see patients.
Conduct virtual sessions while onsite at the school.
