**Job Summary**
Serve as a scientist in the conduct of assigned nonclinical research studies of basic to moderate complexity, to include study management, interpretation and reporting of study data, and assuring the regulatory compliance of these projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Serve as a study director in the direction and execution of assigned studies in compliance with GLP regulations as they apply to the conduct of nonclinical research.
* Participate in proposal management and bid development process. Assist in the review of Letters of Commitment (LOC) in cooperation with client services.
* Participate in and coordinate all phases of the study planning process with appropriate departments.
* Generate high-quality protocols, amendments, and reports appropriate for assigned studies.
* Review, interpret, integrate, and present data on assigned studies, using the assistance of senior scientific staff as appropriate.
* Function as contact for the planning and execution of sponsor interaction related to assigned studies, including proposal management and study scheduling, conduct and reporting.
* Provide technical and scientific guidance to the research staff.
* Attend scientific meetings, conferences, and training courses to enhance job and professional skills.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is between $87,000 to $93,000. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

The Experimental Data Systems (EDS) division within the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) Directorate at SLAC is seeking a Big Data Architect to work on the development of data management tools that enable LCLS scientific capabilities.
LCLS is the world¿s premier X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) with a suite of X-ray instruments capable of generating large, high-velocity, high-variety datasets used to elucidate atomic structures and dynamics at the femtosecond timescale. The evolution of science and experimental techniques on these instruments, along with upgrades in the X-ray FEL source and optical lasers (LCLS-II and LCLS-II-HE), benefits from real-time feedback, access to significant computing power, innovative analysis methods such as those employing AI/ML, and the ability to automate experiments from execution to analysis.
This position will focus on the development, integration, and management of systems to transport, store, search, retrieve, analyze, and visualize petascale scientific datasets. The successful applicant will participate in the effort to develop systems that enable the seamless transfer of data to Department of Energy Leadership Class Facilities for real-time analysis. A significant aspect of the role will be to support, maintain, and optimize existing EDS software and hardware platforms at the SLAC Shared Data Facility (S3DF) to support LCLS operations.
As a Big Data Architect in the LCLS Data Management Department, you will work within an interdisciplinary team of software developers, scientists, and engineers and oversee scientific data management systems, including data curation, timely data transfer, and archival integrity for LCLS. Responsibilities include overseeing data transfer, replication, and backup processes, building and testing automation tools, and participating in the development of next-generation scientific instruments that connect to remote computing resources to execute time-intensive and data-intensive workflows. In addition to maintaining and automating data management activities at LCLS, the successful candidate will also work on data management solutions with scientific and operations support staff to develop future scientific instrumentation capabilities.
**Your Specific Responsibilities Include:**
+ Work with the LCLS Data Systems team, beamline scientists, SLAC Shared Scientific Data Facility, and SLAC IT to ensure the complete and timely delivery of data from LCLS instruments to the S3DF and remote DOE computing facilities.
+ Oversee the LCLS data repositories, ensure their integrity, enforce data retention and access policies, and manage data movement for purposes of analysis or archival.

We are seeking a computational scientist and scientific data manager to join the Data & Computational Sciences (DCS) department at the Boston, MA site of Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
In this role, you will work across the DCS department to ensure that our data is stored in an appropriately structured form, with the relevant metadata that conforms with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles. These efforts will strengthen and further breakthroughs in AI, driving new discoveries and insights for Global Research across domains including chemistry, biology, and imaging. The initial focus of the role will be genomics data, spanning genetic variants, therapeutic gene editing, transcriptomic, and single-cell data. Through this work, you will ensure that results from large-scale computational analyses are findable and available for reuse, allowing scientists to derive novel insights using results from both computation and experiment. You will work closely with colleagues across the DCS department from different domains and expertise areas, bringing your expertise in data management and data governance, to devise appropriate solutions to store and access their data, to develop appropriate policies around data use, access, and storage, and to ensure appropriate management of data. In parallel, you will also collaborate cross-functionally across the organization on data needs for DCS, including close partnership with the Data, Technology and Engineering (DTE) team on potential technology solutions, and incorporating enterprise guidelines including those for ontology use, data catalogs, data retention and security.
To succeed in this role, you will need familiarity with the use of large-scale scientific data to drive Research discoveries in a drug discovery and therapeutic development setting. You will also need broad experience in the management of scientific data including the architecture of scientific data storage solutions, with a primary focus on data types that are generated from computational workflows on large-scale data in Global Research across domains including chemistry, genomics and imaging.
Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues across DCS to understand their data and how it is used, and develop a data management & governance roadmap that will address data management needs in a prioritized manner
- Define and implement data management solutions, in collaboration with DTE, for large-scale results generated from computational workflows spanning chemistry, biology, imaging, and screening
- Where relevant, be responsible for prototyping pipelines to create integrated datasets that combine internal and/or external data sources, and work with colleagues in DTE to productionize such datasets for broader use within DCS
- Contribute to DCS-specific development of best practices, guidelines, and SOPs, as appropriate with a focus on data related aspects
- Align with enterprise-level data governance frameworks
- Coordinate with data engineering efforts in DTE to integrate samples, tests and results across the Research environment
- Support other prioritized data needs as needed, such as evaluation of technology solutions for insights from scientific literature, and identification of key external data sources to address gaps in internal data
Qualifications:
- A PhD (or equivalent) in computational sciences, with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree in the computational sciences, with 9 or more years of relevant experience in research data management

- Summary
The Director, Scientific Review and Award Management represents a strongly positioned opportunity to guide research from ideation through publication. The positions primary role is to lead National Psoriasis Foundations extramural research grants and fellowships programs, a program that focuses on close partnership with awardees to provide a supportive and flexible platform tailored to the understanding that research is a dynamic and iterative process. Execution of this philosophy requires partnership between sponsors and awardees across the lifecycle of each award, leveraging the Directors subject matter expertise in biomedical research.
As evidence generation progresses, the Director role guides knowledge transfer in the research community by meaningfully advancing academic discourse in psoriatic disease research. Beyond the award program, the position has an influential leadership role in the NPF scientific journal and efforts to convene workshops and symposia.
The position is multi-faceted and requires management of multiple simultaneous projects and tasks, as well as frequent and on-going communications with colleagues, research awardees, patients, vendors, and other collaborators. This role involves combining a keen sense of scientific knowledge, strategy, and detail-oriented work.
The position will work closely with volunteer clinical and research leaders to inform the design and conduct of programs. The Director will work across the NPF to promote a culture of knowledgeable pride in the activities and outcomes of Research and Medical Affairs. The position is administratively supported by Research and Medical Affairs Coordinator, and benefits from strong collaboration from other team members on matters related to science communication, measurement of program impact, and patient engagement.

Award program - 40%
The Director is responsible for all oversight of all extramural awards and coordination of their peer review. In collaboration with CSMO and advisory committees, the Director will develop and direct a diverse portfolio of awards that align with the NPF strategic research priorities.
Pre-award process
- Collaborate with CMSO, other staff, and volunteer advisory bodies in development of research funding strategy.
- Prepare RFP templates and instructions to support award programs in alignment with strategic goals of the organization
- Manage relevant updates to websites and applications portals.
- Develop outreach strategy for advertising availability of awards
- Routinely communicate with applicants regarding scientific, policy, or process-related issues.
Post-award processes
- Work with Research and Medical Affairs Coordinator to prepare notices of award and award contracts, and to ensure receipt of required pre-award deliverables.
- Serve as internal lead on contract negotiations, leveraging research expertise and knowledge of award management standards.
- Work with accounting to develop award payment schedules, and communicate modifications to payments when required.
- Stay abreast of progress on awards via review of written progress reports and periodic meetings with funded investigators.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Outcomes and Analytics to ensure outcome tracking processes provide data consistent with effective impact analysis of grant portfolios.

- Identify expertise required for appropriate review of proposals within the award program. Recruit reviewers and volunteer leadership to serve on peer review committees.
- Organize, attend, and participate in all award peer review meetings and study sections, ensuring the reviewer work remains aligned with programmatic goals and relevant policy or guidelines.
- Serve as Co-Managing Editor of Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis, communicating with authors, volunteer leadership, and publishers as necessary to support article submission standards, and solicitation of special issues and articles. Ensure that peer review assigned by Associate Editors functions in a timely and thorough manner.
- Coordinate expert review as relates to core functions of the department that may include peer review needs for future conferences or recognition awards.

- Work with the CSMO to manage activities and meetings related to the NPF Scientific Advisory Committee.
- Support CSMO and CEO in representing NPF interests in other external committees or advisory boards, providing presentations where required.
- Serve as subject matter expert in NPF educational outreach. Develop and maintain familiarity with ongoing scientific progress related to psoriatic disease within and external to NPF funded research.

Policy and Process Implementation

- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CIO or executive team.
- Conduct regular site visits to properties to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and ensure operational excellence.

Minimum Requirements:
- Proven expertise in asset management, with a focus on industrial assets.
- Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in asset management, including hands-on experience with industrial properties.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
