This full-time position typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. If you're looking for a stable schedule in a fast-paced healthcare setting, this opportunity is for you.
As a Scribe/Medical Writer, you will be responsible for accurately documenting and summarizing physician verbal dictation and office visits, maintaining thorough patient charts, and helping ensure smooth patient flow and clear communication about appointment status. You will also perform clerical duties such as answering phones, filling out patient paperwork, and assisting at the front desk.
The ideal candidate can type at least 50 words per minute, has a strong understanding of medical terminology, and preferably has experience working in a doctor's office or as a transcriptionist.

In this role, there will be the opportunity to-
+ Answer phones, scan documents, check patients in and out, and assist with work queues as needed.
+ Stay close to the physician to minimize time away from the patient during examinations.
+ Guide patients to the front desk after exams and ensure proper follow-up appointments are scheduled.
+ Assist patients when exiting the exam room to help expedite patient flow.
+ Monitor the examination room and assess any physical limitations patients may have.
+ Evaluate exam room conditions to ensure adequate supplies are available.
+ Accurately summarize and document physician verbalizations, including charting exams, updating chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations.
+ Adapt to each physician's personality and preferences to provide tailored support.
+ Notify the physician of any changes to the daily schedule, particularly emergencies.
+ Enter charge information as designated by the physician and maintain awareness of patient communication to provide necessary instructions or educational materials.
Required:
+ Fluency in English.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and four 4 years of experience in a medical office, medical transcription, or billing/coding OR
+ Associates degree or equivalent, and two years of experience in a medical office, medical transcription or billing/coding
+ Basic of knowledge ICD-10 coding.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Serves and protects the medical practice by adhering to clinic and professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Maintains CPR certification. Qualifications:1 year MA experience preferred. Must be a self-starter, a team player, dependable, friendly and professional. Outstanding customer service, organization and attention to detail. Be able to multi-task and work efficiently while remaining calm and productive. Must be able to maintain good patient and staff relations along with providing outstanding customer service. Previous medical experience preferred. CPR certification (or completed within 4 months of hiring) Working knowledge of medical terminology Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally is required.
