What YOU will do:

  • Perform analysis's, architecture and design at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

  • Perform functional analysis's, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Provide analyses for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total system solutions.

  • Lead a Systems Engineering Development Effort, Including delegation and mentorship with junior engineers.

  • Perform bid and proposal efforts.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

  • Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation, and transition to production.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile framework

  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, experience presenting technical data to program management and executive leadership

  • Experienced with Cryptographic Hardware?architecture/design,?Network Encryption specifications and test methodologies

  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, CAMEO or similar, Software Languages such as Rust and Python.

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value

The Information Assurance Systems Engineer is first and foremost a Systems Engineer who is also a subject matter expert in the development of systems and equipment that protect classified National Security information. S/he will be responsible for applying security and cryptography expertise throughout the Systems Engineering process to develop and successfully certify National Security systems on time, within the allotted budget, and with low residual risk.

Essential Functions:
The Information Assurance Systems Engineer is an ideal position for those with either Systems Engineering academic or industry experience in the design, development, and test of Information Assurance solutions for Defense and Intelligence community customers. The successful candidate will possess both expertise in Systems Engineering as well as in Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography. Demonstrated history of success in developing NSA Approved products is highly desirable .
Within the Security engineering context, his or her primary responsibility will be performing Concept of Operations development, Requirement's decomposition/synthesis, Architecture Development and analysis, and security test planning and execution.
Qualifications
+ A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, Master's degree highly desired
+ At least 6+ years' experience in S ystems Engineering for embedded or secure communication systems.
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills; works with others to coordinate efforts, influence and resolve cross-team issues and effectively communicate changes.
+ A complete understanding of the systems engineering process from concept phase through systems test. Must be adept at: Architecture Development, Functional Analysis, Requirements Allocation & Traceability, Trade-off Studies, System Synthesis and System Evaluation (Integration & Verification Testing).
+ Knowledge in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) including Transmission Layer Security (TLS) and certificate/key management.
+ Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
+ Proven experience applying the left side of the V-model, including requirements analysis, system architecture, and design.
+ Hands-on experience with systems integration and verification testing (right side of the V-model).
+ Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation, diagnostics, and system-level debugging in embedded environments.
+ US Citizenship required
+ Active US Government security clearance (DOD SECRET minimum)
+ Willingness to travel up to 10% of time
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ Understanding of Key Management Systems including Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) as they impact the design of End Cryptographic Units (ECUs)
+ Proven track record of success and experience in the architecture, design, analysis, integration, and test of NSA Approved Type 1 Certified systems or equipment.
o Ability to act as a single Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography.
o Exceptional security architecture development skills: specifically including the ability to make complex design trade-offs affecting system security
o Experience negotiating security requirements with NSA Technical Evaluators.
o Experience with NSA TSRD, IASRD, and FSDA requirements and processes.
o Experience with development of NSA Security Evaluation Document (SED) CDRLs. Multiple programs is highly desirable.
o Working knowledge of Type 1, Suite A, Suite B, and Commercial Cryptographic algorithms (Symmetric and Asymmetric).
+ Experience with Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework
+ Cybersecurity Credential (e.g., CISSP)
+ Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler for systems architecture, design, and requirements traceability.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is 115,5105- 211,683. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled SharePoint Administrator to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity compliance of a SharePoint 2019 environment within a secure DoD enclave. This position plays a critical role in supporting backend infrastructure, ensuring adherence to cybersecurity standards, and enabling enterprise collaboration across mission-critical systems and geographically dispersed sites. The ideal candidate will bring deep platform expertise in SharePoint services, backend maintenance, and cybersecurity compliance while also contributing to workflow deployment, database performance tuning, and user support. Additionally, you will help sustain Authority to Operate (ATO) through RMF documentation and STIG checklists, leveraging automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, and C# to streamline operations.
What You Will Do
+ Administer and maintain SharePoint 2019 farms, site collections, service applications, and associated services.
+ Configure and manage user permissions, access controls, group roles, and workflow automations.
+ Monitor system health and server performance, including IIS configuration, ULS logs, and storage utilization.
+ Apply updates, hotfixes, and cumulative patches while ensuring service continuity.
+ Troubleshoot application errors, performance degradation, and service disruptions.
+ Enforce compliance with DoD RMF requirements, NIST 800-53 controls, and applicable DISA STIGs.
+ Support the development and deployment of PowerShell scripts to streamline administrative and compliance tasks.
+ Maintain accurate and current documentation of system configurations, change management actions, and cybersecurity artifacts.
+ Provide technical support and training to end users and collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and server teams.
+ Participate in security reviews, audits, and risk assessments to maintain ATO status.
What We Are Looking For
+ 9 years relevant experience with bachelor's in related field; 7 years relevant experience with master's in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
