Job purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Enterprise Security Architecture manager, reporting to the Head of Security Architecture, to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Security Architecture across the enterprise. This is a key role with the which will collaborate with senior leadership, key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define and align security strategies with business objectives, ensuring security alignment to business objectives, evolving threat landscapes, and industry standards across the enterprise to mitigate risks and address emerging threats. The Enterprise Security Architect will be responsible for developing and enforcing the enterprise security architecture strategy and roadmap, leading the development of patterns and conducting capability gap assessments whilst maintaining integration into the company's business and technology landscape. The manager will be responsible for maturing the security architecture practice, defining principles and providing input into policies and standards that span multiple business domains and technical environments, including cloud, infrastructure, and applications. This position requires deep expertise in security architecture, a strong understanding of risk management, and the ability to influence and guide key decisions at the enterprise level. Key responsibilities include: Responsible for the development and implementation of the enterprise security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s business objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. Define security architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices, ensuring they are consistently applied across the enterprise. Ensure that security architecture designs are scalable, flexible, and future-proof to accommodate changing business needs and evolving threat landscapes. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of security architects, ensuring they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively design and implement security solutions. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, promoting innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Manage team performance, provide regular feedback, and ensure professional development opportunities for all team members. Define clear goals and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with the broader security strategy and organizational goals. Work closely with technology teams, including Infrastructure, Cloud, Development, and Security, to embed security into solutions from the outset. Knowledge, skills and abilities: 10+ years of experience in information security architecture, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, managing and mentoring security architects or technical teams. Strong background in designing and implementing security architectures across complex enterprise environments, including cloud, infrastructure, and application security. Extensive experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SABSA, and Cloud Security Alliance (CCM). Extensive experience working with senior leadership and stakeholders to drive strategic security initiatives, influencing decisions at the enterprise level. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior management, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver secure solutions that align with business objectives. BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Led by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Technology Risk secures Goldman Sachs against hackers and other cyber threats. We are responsible for detecting and preventing attempted cyber intrusions against the firm, helping the firm develop more secure applications and infrastructure, developing software in support of our efforts, measuring cybersecurity risk, and designing and driving implementation of cybersecurity controls. The team has global presence across the Americas, APAC, India and EMEA. Within Technology Risk, Advisory is the consultative and technology subject matter expertise arm, responsible for assessing new technology initiatives for risk, partnering with engineers to architect and design secure products and services, embedding implementation reviews as part of the SDLC and CI/CD pipeline via code analysis and penetration testing, and guiding technology innovation in terms of security and control across Goldman Sachs. The team plays a critical role in designing and assessing controls for our transition to building native public cloud applications.

ROLE

In this role, you will join one of the most progressive Technology Risk teams in the industry which continues to push the development of risk in preference to security within technology and the business. You will collaborate with technology teams on both in house projects and external cloud adoptions to deliver secure products and solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with various teams to understand design proposals and evaluate risk.
  • Design secure patterns and produce guidance to reduce risks through opinionated architecture.
  • Develop policy as code, templates and modules to implement and enforce secure patterns and guidance.
  • Validate security controls and uncover misconfigurations across various cloud deployments.
  • Research and conduct proof of concepts for new tools and solutions improving the security posture.
  • Review impact of SaaS applications and systems on existing core infrastructure, and provide recommendations for secure implementation.
  • Perform infrastructure as code reviews.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in one or more infrastructure technical role (focusing in either Network, Windows or Linux platforms) with 3-5 years working with major cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP stack, application and infrastructure protocols.
  • Must have a high level understanding of security risks as they apply to cloud and on-premise solutions.
  • Preferred risk knowledge domains include network segregation, data protection, infrastructure management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands on experience with at least one Cloud Service Provider, GCP preferred.
  • Understanding of Cloud AI services and Agentic AI Risk.
  • Understand of Software Supply Chain Risk or SaaS Risk.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, templates and modules.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Cyber-Security, or Information Security.
  • Experience or trainings in related disciplines e.g. computer security, network security, cloud security.
