Day-to-day, you will:

  • Develop and design network security solutions to address a wide range of technical challenges, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure network architecture.

  • Knowledge of network fabrics security segmentation (Cisco ACI desirable).
  • Experience with Cisco Networking platforms to include ACI, NX-OS, IOS-XE systems.
  • Experience with industrial control systems or intelligent transportation systems (preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to conceptualize complex computer networks.
  • Proficiency in identifying tasks and activities required to meet customer needs, requirements, and setting goals and priorities in line with business objectives.

The Security Design Engineer role will be experienced in protective design, physical security and/or civil construction to support the Client's Global Security Systems & Technology program. The Specialist will possess strong knowledge in security, design, construction, and project delivery processes as they relate to protective design and physical security for critical facilities, particularly data centers. This position will focus on coordination, incorporation, and review of physical security requirements including site layout, barriers and fencing, access controls, intrusion detection systems, video surveillance, security lighting, and structural hardening for new build projects. In addition, the position requires close coordination with operational and technological security teams as well as architects and engineers across a variety of disciplines (Civil, Landscape, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, and Security). This role will support project delivery on the Client's leased and owned data centers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that all protective design requirements and guidelines are clearly communicated to the project team. This will require working across all levels of the organization to provide background and educate both technical and non-technical stakeholders on protective design requirements.
  • Attend meetings with project design teams with the purpose of coordinating protective design requirements, reviewing on-going project progress, and providing guidance on the implementation of standards, as needed.
  • Work with internal partners to ensure that protective design elements are appropriately coordinated across standards, schematic design documents (drawings and specifications) and detailed design documents.
  • Work with external design consultants to ensure that protective design elements are appropriately incorporated into contract documents according to standards and in adherence to local and international laws.
  • Review design team drawings, contractor submittals and RFIs.
  • Work with internal and external partners to ensure that protective design elements are constructed, commissioned, and maintained in accordance with internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Support efforts to scale the protective design practice including activities related to evaluation of current practices; investigation of new technologies, means and methods; development of presentation materials, forms, and guidance documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering (Civil, Structural) and 2-3+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., design, construction, O&M) or 4+ years of experience in technical and/or physical security design.
  • Knowledge of and experience with design and construction management.
  • Experience with mission critical and/or technical facility projects.
  • Experience with communicating technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Relevant professional registration(s) and/or certifications.

The primary purpose of the Electronic Security Design Specialist position is to provide security risk assessments and coordinate physical security implementation. Impacts institutional capital security projects.
Implements the development of procedures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of UTP technical services to support capital projects. Develops and administers security standards and specifications to ensure compliance with current institutional security systems. Designs, develops, and oversees implementation of solutions for system installation, including review of contractor submittals, periodic field observations, and system acceptance testing.
Provides expertise and direction regarding institutional capital security projects to both internal and external project teams, addressing architectural, electronic, and operational protective measures. Provides expertise, direction, and coordination of all disciplines in the completion of security vulnerability and risk assessments, and integration of security system designs.

Prepares scope of work descriptions for project-specific requirements, develops budgetary estimates, and evaluates bids to obtain desired equipment consistent with current system applications. Leads long term strategic planning and short term security solutions to maintain institutional security mission. Participates in analysis, design, project management, and application configuration programming for enterprise level security applications.

*Education Required:* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Management Information Systems, Security Management or related field.
*Experience Required:* Five years of experience in security design, electronic security system management and/or security risk assessments. With preferred degree, three years of experience in security design, electronic security system management and/or security risk assessments. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
*Experience Preferred:* Physical security components, physical security risk assessments and project management.

Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Cyber Security Design Expert at our Newtown Square, PA location to provide guidance on design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of security processes and supporting cyber security tools.
Expectations and Tasks:
Manage development and implementation of security solutions in alignment with security strategy. Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to resolve any issues related to the to the applicable area of focus. Analyze trends and emerging technologies for potential program modernization. Advocate on behalf of the function to gain support from other groups and reduce roadblocks/resistance. Guide junior team members in developing, implementing, integrating, and operating tools to support detection, prevention, analysis, and resolution of security threats, as applicable to area of focus. Ensure documentation and socialization of procedures, run-books, and high-level/low-level documentations. Evaluate current technologies and workflows, and drive implementation of modern automation and orchestration solutions and concepts. Collaborate with cross functional leaders and stakeholders to support project roadmaps requiring respective functional resources and development of related policies and procedures. Evangelize best practices and security tooling. Provide expertise in acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services as it pertains to security engineering. Research latest trends and emerging technologies and recommend solution upgrades. Assist in developing executive metrics to assess and improve program performance. Develop, maintain, and socialize the strategic vision for the respective function. Mentor and coach junior team members to increase knowledge base in the team.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Sciences, IT, Cyber Security, Software Development, Engineering, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Sciences, IT, Cyber Security, Software Development, Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must involve five (5) years in the following:
- Security information Event Management;
- IT Service Management - ServiceNow, Jira Service Management and PagerDuty, Service desk, IT Operations, Application Management, Event Management, Incident Management, Service Request fulfilment, Access Management, and Problem Management;
- ITIL Service Transition - Project Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Service Validation & Testing, Release and Deployment Management, and Service Asset and Configuration Management;
- IT Monitoring Functions - Application/Infra monitoring using Catchpoint, Dynatrace, Splunk and Solar Winds;
- IT Governance & Reporting Functions - Governance reporting, and ServiceNow Dashboards/Reporting; and
- Information Security (InfoSec).

**Compensation Range Transparency:** The annual base salary range for this position is $147,805 - $38,085. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 164,700 - 280,100. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
