**Responsibilities**
Mayo Clinic Global Security Supervisors will oversee the activities and supervision of the security officers by assisting with problems, providing direction, determining appropriate action, and disseminating information.
The supervisor will meet budgetary specifications and maintain a budget in conjunction with the manager or security operations. The role also includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, associate providers, department staff and multidisciplinary team members.
The supervisor serves as a focal point for emergencies and ensures a safe and secure environment. They participate in the hiring and training of new Security Officers. They will perform routine security officer functions as needed in conjunction with their other duties.
May utilize security vehicle on a regular or occasional basis; enforces Mayo policies and responds to complaints and service calls for wrongdoing, prepares incident reports/activity logs, and may work in the Security control centers.
A Supervisor adapts to unpredictable and stressful situations; manages altercations and emergency crises in an effective and professional manner; operates and communicates on a two-way radio; exhibits good judgment, maturity, initiative, tact and diplomacy when dealing with people in stressful situations. They will frequently be walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pulling, climbing, reaching, and pushing, and occasionally running; is able to move quickly up and down stairwells, from the ground floor up to the top floor of each building without assistance; assists patients, volunteers, visitors, and staff with emergency evacuations, including evacuations in stairwells, to include handling emergency evacuation devices used to transport patients and others to safety; makes effective decisions as an emergency first responder, is confident in stressful situations, and works as a team member with other emergency responders, including law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel.

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree with one year security, healthcare, law enforcement or military experience and two years supervisory experience or Associates degree with three years security, healthcare, law enforcement or military experience and two years supervisory experience or HS/GED with five years security, healthcare, law enforcement or military experience with two years supervisory experience.Progressive experience in a healthcare/management role required. The Fayetteville State University Department of Police and Public Safety is responsible for maintaining a safe learning and working environment for our students, staff, faculty, and visitors. The Residence Hall Property Security unit operates within the Department and provides security services to the residential facilities on campus.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
This position will be responsible for Property Security Officers assigned to the unit. The Property Security Supervisor will evaluate Property Security Officers' performance, designate assignments, direct resources, and provide direction and guidance to lower-ranking security officers as needed. The Property Security Supervisor will work with other supervisors to establish performance objectives for Property Security Officers. The employee will monitor the actions of Property Security Officers to ensure compliance with university and department policies and procedures. Duties include providing leadership/supervision to officers on the shift, training officers, inspecting Property Security Officers and equipment, reviewing reports and documentation completed during the shift, conducting performance reviews, administering personnel actions, and providing input concerning operational planning. Other duties may include assisting with the scheduling of Property Security Officers to ensure appropriate staffing levels and assisting Property Security Officers with completing duties during times of increased workload, staffing shortages, or as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in security, enforcement, or protection work.
