• Produce detailed design documents from project specifications, architectural drawings, and code requirements using AutoCAD, BIM, and other design software.
• Read, interpret, and apply security-related codes, standards, and job specifications.
• Work with sales, operations, and design staff as needed to interpret project scope.

The Security Designer must have experience designing with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc. Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in Security systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements Develop Security systems recommendations Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality Security infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants The Security Designer will be responsible for reviewing intake forms or site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, and producing documentation suitable for system installation, and control system programming scopes. The Security Designer must be able to produce advanced Security designs including system line diagrams, for CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems. The Security Designer must have the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawing sets. The Security Designer must have experience designing with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc The Security Designer will create system integration documents, including Basis of Designs and CSI Specifications. The Security Designer will communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and vendors. The Security Designer will provide operational team staff with high-end technical support on both a pre- and post-design efforts. The Security Designer will contribute to the design review and code review as required. The Security Designer will develop and maintain knowledge of current, and new technologies that the company offers Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within IES's high standards of quality The Security Designer will act as a liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when the project is handed over for installation. The Security Designer must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop, and implement project process improvement(s). Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill-level to interpret blueprints, and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements. Must able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory Qualifications Minimum of five years of experience in the design and implementation of Security systems; experience with an independent consulting firm is a strong plus Extensive knowledge in the design of Security systems, including but not limited to: surveillance and CCTV; access control and various credential technology; intrusion detection Intimate knowledge of Security architectural requirements including but not limited to: sightline studies; structural support requirements; cabling pathways; architectural integration of Security equipment General knowledge of Information Technology (IT) services and digital media delivery technologies, network hardware, infrastructure and system architecture Excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills, both oral and written Values that include integrity, accountability, and a willingness to have fun Works equally well as an individual contributor or team member Maintains a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment Ability to assist with business development activities is preferred but required Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam Pluses: Revit experience and additional industry-related certifications.
