RVS is hiring for a Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer. Responsible for the oversite and assembly of Focal Plane Modules from implementation of design to shipment. Provide engineering support for the manufacturing factory, interpret engineering drawings and specifications into build plans, create schedules and oversee nonrecurring and recurring tasks to support program builds. Create and maintain Bill of Materials, generate planning documents, manage process and tooling activities, review, and disposition discrepant material, manage budgets, interface with manufacturing personnel, lead problem solving efforts and corrective actions.
**What You Will Do**
+ Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
+ Perform operator training, as required. Perform and support First Article Inspections assuring hardware meets all quality requirements flowed down from the program
+ Conduct process audits to assure compliance. Create and update work instructions for use by manufacturing operations
+ Participate in the design of fixtures and tooling
+ Engage with factory area leads to address systemic issues and provide root cause/corrective action/preventive action to reduce scrap and rework.
+ Relay concepts for tooling design, and design for manufacturability to design functions
+ Creating bill of materials, assembly planning and work instructions
+ Wok in a cleanroom work environment (Class 100), wearing full coverall garments.
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a STEM related degree and a minimum of 2 years' Engineering experience. Or an advanced degree.
+ Experience in Semiconductor environment and/or semiconductor equipment.
**Qualifications We Prefer**
+ Understanding of basic semiconductor physics.
+ Experience with II-VI and III-V or other compound semiconductor processing.
+ Experience in wet etch, metal-lift off, lithography, plasma cleaning or associated semiconductor processing equipment
+ Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project).
+ Working knowledge of military and commercial manufacturing processes.
+ Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Six Sigma, and statistical techniques.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly of mechanical and electronic assemblies.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Provide test and manufacturing product engineering support for magnetic and pressure sensor products.
- Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability, track product health trends, and drive yield improvements. Statistically analyze data to evaluate and qualify process and product changes.
- Investigate the root cause of technical issues, contain problems to protect customers, and implement corrective actions to resolve them.
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.

Position Overview:

As part of our Defense Systems Assembly Group, the Assembly Manufacturing Technician will have the exciting opportunity to work with high precision electrical products. This position is at the front line of our semiconductor device fabrication process and in this role, the technician will have the opportunity to be mentored and work hands-on in a lab environment within a growing and evolving aerospace company.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:
  • Working to written standard work instructions to set up and run wafer fabrication/micro assembly processes within a regulated clean room environment
  • Monitor and evaluate wafer production results and promptly report on anomalous findings
  • Perform wafer fabrication manufacturing tasks associated with photolithography, lift-off, thin-film deposition, wet chemical etching, and other semiconductor processes
  • Operate equipment required for wafer fabrication processes including mask aligner, plasma cleaner, furnace, PECVD, etc.
  • Perform manual micro assembly processes including die mount, wire bonding, and optical bonding.
  • Perform precise alignments as part of micro assembly and masking operations
  • Aid Manufacturing Engineering in root cause analysis efforts
  • Willingness to assist team members to maintain productivity and efficiency for organizational objectives
  • Record completion of work and key parameters in build documentation or electronic build record system
  • Follow all safety and EHS protocols and follow all PPE requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • 2 years of manufacturing-related experience: semiconductor experience preferred
  • Experience with at least one of the following fabrication methods: micro assembly, wafer processing, or window photolithography
  • Demonstrate initiative with a curiosity and aptitude to learn
  • Ability to speak up as appropriate and escalate issues as required
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate an extremely high level of precision and accuracy with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of flexibility and assist others as needed
  • Ability to work comfortably under a microscope and have the willingness to learn new technologies
  • Must be comfortable working with solvents and acids
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and basic computer proficiency required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience grinding or polishing small optics is a plus
