Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Jr Accountant / AP Accountant to join our team in Carson, California. In this role, you will focus on managing accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and assisting with various accounting functions. Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable transactions for multiple units while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and update vendor files, including verifying new vendors and adhering to W9 and 1099 requirements.
- Ensure invoices are coded correctly and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
- Generate checks, prepare supporting documentation, and address outstanding or stale checks.
- Reconcile accounts payable aging reports on a monthly basis and research any discrepancies.
- Process corporate credit expenses, personal reimbursements, and petty cash requests in accordance with established policies.
- Prepare journal entries for monthly prepaid expenses, accruals, and reclassifications as needed.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to accounts payable and assist with monthly and year-end closings.
- Collaborate with field units to resolve accounts payable issues and provide guidance on reimbursement and petty cash processes.
- Support audit preparation activities with a focus on accounts payable and provide backup assistance when necessary. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable or similar functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Dynamics NAV and ERP solutions.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and external stakeholders.

  • Prepares reports of key operational metrics on a timely basis for tracking performance to forecast and budget. and meet external reporting requirements.
  • Analyzes operational performance in comparison to profit plan and prepares related reports for use by operational personnel.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and reviews product margins, including cost rollup for cost estimating and engineering packages
  • Prepares and oversees month-end general ledger closing entries and participates in all closing activities. Verifies support schedules to general ledger control accounts and reconciles accounts as required. Prepares all general ledger journal entries in the cost accounting areas. Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the financial data in the Trial Balance
  • Responsible for month end processing of ERP system including running all reports and bringing the system back up for user access
  • Monitors daily ERP interface to Oracle General Ledger and Accounts receivable and trouble-shoots any problems
  • Collects, processes and manages payroll processing for hourly and salary employees. Provides support for accounts payable processing and related activities. Establishes, records, and tracks vacation liability for the division
  • Conducts monthly internal audits (ASATS) in accordance with internal audit procedures and compliance calendar
  • Coordinates Req to Pay (RTP) interfaces process between Oracle/BAAN LN for procurement activities and receipts including troubleshooting problems and RTP SPA requirements, as required
  • Performs periodic audits of cycle counts, WIP inventory and other areas that appear require internal controls to ensure integrity of assets and liabilities reported on the Trial balance
  • Assures and maintains adherence to accounting policies and procedures and identifies areas where procedures could be improved. Maintains confidentiality on all data or information they come in contact with
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with Company Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards

Century is partnering with a company in the healthcare industry located in the San Fernando Valley. They are seeking a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant that can join their growing team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $33 to $40 per hour.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments
  • Extensive experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Vendor Management, Premium Audits, internal & external audit support, banking, refunds, commissions, Reconciliations; bank, vendor, customer and general ledger, Journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
  • Vast knowledge with GAAP
  • BS degree in accounting
