**Job Duties**
- Performs Accounts Payable (AP) duties such as processing AP transactions accurately and timely, entering vendor invoice, and matching invoices to purchase orders.
- Performs Payroll duties such as processing Payroll transactions accurately and timely and preparing FICA recovery spreadsheets and Payroll account reconciliations.
- Records cash payments and fixed assets to Lawson and prepares cash reconciliations.
- Reviews assigned financial statement lines for proper coding and accruals Analyzes assigned GL accounts for proper accruals and coding.

**Responsibilities**
**Position Summary:**
Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Financial Accounting Manager position is responsible for a variety of accounting, and reporting functions including, but not limited to, month end close, oversight of accounts payable, SOX compliance, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. This role is a key part of the plant leadership team and helps drive results while maintaining financial integrity.
Position main office can be either Wakefield or Norfolk plant offices with an approx. weekly drive to the other office location. Plant locations are approx. 42 miles apart or a 45-minute drive.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain the general ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) by verifying posted transactions, preparing journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts
+ Prepare variance analysis to plan and forecast and use information to communicate opportunities or risk to future estimates.
+ Support asset management including, capital budget preparation, Capital Purchase Request (CPR) preparation and related analysis, placing assets in service, fixed asset schedule review and verification.
+ Supervise the accounts payable function to ensure that payables are processed in accordance with Company policies. Responsible for the integrity of GL codes, sales tax compliance, and authorization of payables.
+ Ensure cross-training of accounts payable/staff accountant and current job documentation of team. Prepare performance reviews.
+ Work with cross functional plant operations team members to prepare cost center expense and labor budgets.
+ Play a major role in the design, development and implementation of any additional internal plant supplemental reports as required by the Plant Controller.
+ Prepare necessary reporting for the annual budget for various departments and update the forecast reporting as appropriate.
+ Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
+ Complete any special projects or other duties as assigned.
+ Comply with SOX requirements.
**Qualifications**
**Skills to be successful:**

This strategic role is based in our Atlanta office and will work closely with our Tokyo-based team, requiring expert-level Japanese fluency (reading, writing, speaking). The role serves as a key partner to the Global CFO Office, supporting the development of scalable financial infrastructure, internal controls, and global reporting capabilities.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Policy
- Prepare and oversee Japan statutory financial statements in compliance with JGAAP and local filing requirements
- Analyze the impact of new accounting standards, regulatory changes, or complex transactions
- Establish and enforce group-wide accounting policies and ensure global consistency
- Support internal and external stakeholder reporting (e.g., internal management, vendors, regulatory bodies)
2. Accounting Standards & Technical Leadership
- Lead development and updates to Mujins Global Accounting Manual
- Act as the go-to expert on advanced accounting topics across GAAP frameworks (US GAAP, IFRS, JGAAP)
- Coordinate projects addressing changes in accounting standards or audit compliance
- Oversee financial consolidation, cash flow reports, and budget vs. actual variance analysis
3. Internal Controls & Audit Management
- Ensure robust internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), including documentation and testing
- Design and monitor controls for general ledger, cash, tax, and transactional integrity
- Lead audit planning and coordinate with external auditors (Big 4 or equivalent)
- Collaborate with internal audit and risk functions on governance, SOX readiness (if applicable), and risk mitigation
4. Consolidation & Global Intercompany Transactions
- Oversee intercompany eliminations, transfer pricing documentation, and currency conversion processes
- Standardize and validate monthly reporting packages from Japan-based entities
- Maintain reconciliations for key balance sheet and P&L accounts, including multi-entity and multi-currency roll-ups
- Ensure compliance with intra-group transaction rules and Group Tax policy
5. Systems, Process Improvement & Transformation
- Partner with FP&A and IT to optimize ERP systems (e.g., reporting, close automation, dashboarding)
- Drive continuous improvement in monthly close timelines and reporting accuracy
- Design scalable processes suitable for rapid growth and global expansion
- Contribute to automation, data integrity, and standardization efforts across finance
6. Business Collaboration & Strategic Finance Alignment

+ Support the financial operations of our Fully Insured Health Insurance Division for Large Groups by performing a variety of financial tasks.

+ Enter information into the finance systems while maintaining rigorous internal controls and assisting in the preparation of tracking reports for reconciliations and detailed analysis.

**Minimum Requirements:**
