Who You Are
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related technical discipline with hydrogeologic knowledge and experience, or relevant.

7+ years of experience working as an environmental professional and completing environmental investigations (planning, field work, data processing, technical writing, and presentations), and/or facets of pre-design investigations/remedial designs.

Working knowledge and experience with State and Federal protection regulations, guidelines, and consulting processes pertaining to the environmental practice position.

Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting agencies.

Project management experience with small to medium-sized projects

Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.

Provides high level technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase activities to validate construction, integrity, operability, and the commissioning of building systems and facilities projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include the planning, directing, coordinating, testing, and commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, and automation. Substantiates reports, documentation, and decisions regarding the configuration of equipment, optimization studies, system functional testing, readiness testing, and the transition from the construction phase to full operations. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for performance, reliability, safety, and security for building inhabitants.
Your Impact
+ Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site during various construction phases, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, flow diagrams, computer-generated reports, and other matrices for project energy auditing actions, validation, and commissioning.
+ Perform professional building and system commissioning work by conducting research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, and installation or operating permits.
+ Develop and oversee configuration, testing specifications, and readiness plans; preparing and updating checklists/punch lists and cost estimates that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
+ Involved from project inception to completion for commissioning work deliverables throughout the various project work phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, integration, installation, and operation.
+ Develop and incorporate advanced technologies, monitoring, modeling techniques, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to account for the proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems according to specifications; implementing future-ready solutions with building systems operating standards.
+ Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on various design, installation, and integration issues relating to commissioning and retro commissioning of building systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, chilled water, plumbing, and automation.
+ Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams to execute project work on mid-level and/or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, technical calculations, permit applications, schematics, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
+ Coordinate, review and approve commissioning and operational plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.

Who You Are

+ 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior building and systems commissioning experience.
+ Proficient with building commissioning principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
+ Extensive knowledge of smart building design.
+ Experience with building planning, design, and installation management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation and new design projects.
+ Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant building technology/system installation and/or construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of testing and validation, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate standards or regulations.
