The successful candidate will draw upon their experience to aid in the design and analysis of gas turbine engine components. Collaboration and a forward thinking approach are important to ensure we remain the supplier of choice for our customers. You will also be the face of Quest to your customers. Through listening to customer challenges, and building on your previous experiences, you will find creative approaches that will solve their most difficult engineering problems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or modify designs related to Aero-engine components by analyzing product specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities
- Execute mechanical design projects of gas turbine components on Structures/Rotating parts (Frames, Shaft, Disk, Blisk, seals etc.) and/or Airfoils (Blade, Vanes, Nozzles etc.)
- Evaluate concepts of new designs/improvements, manufacturing methods, materials or processes and complete required documentation by applying engineering principles and Industry standards, and generating reports, procedures or change proposals
- Capture design & system requirements from the customer, and incorporate into the component design
- Support technical substantiation, contribute & present in technical and program reviews
- Develop components and modules keeping cost, performance, life, and system requirements in mind
- Design and Analysis of the component using CAE tools (NX, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS workbench)
- Direct interface with other internal/external engineering functions
- Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems
- Evaluate form, fit, function and life of the components relative to the certified configuration
- Evaluate non-conformances by reviewing, analyzing design criteria's and acceptability limits, recommend disposition procedures and maximizing producibility
Required Skills:

**Position Summary:**
The Design Engineer will report to the Lead Project Engineer and will be responsible for leading and executing engineering projects focused on the design and development of new automotive fasteners and fastener assemblies. Utilizing our Customer-Back Innovation process, this role emphasizes delivering high-performance, cost-effective solutions that meet customer and industry requirements. This position involves direct collaboration with customers and suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle. **Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Serve as project manager for assigned projects, coordinating efforts with the sales team and customers to meet specific technical and performance requirements.
+ Conduct research and evaluate alternative engineering approaches to enhance product performance and address evolving customer needs.

Caterpillar's Drivetrain team designs drivetrain systems and components used across Caterpillar machines and OEM applications. The Structures, Castings, and Forgings team designs many of the parts used within those components. The team is also a centralized resource for designing and validating drivetrain components that are exposed to ground-induced structural loads. This specific role includes:
+ Completing mechanical design tasks under the direction of a senior engineer.

The Dealer-Facing Processes & Systems team is seeking a Design Engineer to lead and oversee engineering processes that deliver critical content to dealers and customers throughout the sales journey. This role will collaborate closely with Energy & Transportation (E&T) product groups to align with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring seamless integration and execution. The Design Engineer will be responsible for gathering, organizing, and distributing work across the team, while also driving the development of advanced digital products that enhance automation and digital capabilities.

+ Coordinate and delegate tasks to Associate Design Engineers to ensure efficient workflow and project execution
+ Lead and manage digital initiatives, driving the development and delivery of innovative solutions

Routing to and from Engine Control Modules (ECMs), Cab displays / monitors, cab switches, communication modules, antennas, radios, tire pressure monitors, gauges, lights, indicators, and cab pressure sensors. Clip and secure harnesses on the machine, and design brackets that allow for mounting and securing the harnesses. Route harnesses for 777,775, 772 off highway trucks and 988, 992, 993 Large Wheel Loader products. Use Creo to route the harnesses. Telecommuting: 2 days/week.
REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Product Engineer, or related occupation in electrical engineering design and electrical troubleshooting.
Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Electric lines Creo Structured Design Procedure (SDP); (2) Teamcenter tools/process; (3) Design, analysis, or test experience on wiring installations and electrical systems; (4) Utilizing harness and cable manufacturing methods to evaluate the cost, quality and feasibility of design concepts, print completion for manufacturing process optimization; (5) Utilizing mechanical design concepts to provide support, evaluate design robustness, life performance and cost to ensure optimal structure support for electrical components; (6) Utilizing electrical systems including reading schematics to evaluate circuitry functionality, determine subsystem completion and establish direct relationship between the physical 3D harness and the 2D schematic; and (7) Utilizing Vis View to visualize and manipulate large assemblies at machine level to visualize and collaborate with other system teams to negotiate space claim, evaluate potential interference issues and manage BOM ownership in the context of the machine.
