**Essential Functions:**
+ Ensures that work on the Eversource Gas Business Unit (ESGBU) is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and company pipeline construction standards and procedures.
+ Supports development, review and management of the quality standards, procedures, and work practices for the ESGBU, including reviews of new federal and state requirements to ensure compliance.
+ Resolves issues related to compliance with policies and procedures.
+ Resolves issues related to material and equipment for use on the distribution system and supports failure analysis of material and equipment as necessary.
+ Reviews requests for new materials for use on the gas system and supports maintenance of the materials catalog.
+ Interfaces with the QA/QC organization to address issues related to quality, including investigations into quality issues and procedure/policy changes.
+ Occasional interaction with state regulators on issues regarding compliance with federal and state pipeline regulations.
+ Participate in asset management programs for installed materials on the gas distribution system
+ Communicates changes in procedures, policies and standards to the Gas Business Unit and outside entities, such as state regulators.
+ Knowledge of Title 49, Part 192 of the Code of Federal Regulations preferred.
+ Assists in gas distribution restoration efforts during emergencies.
+ On call Storm Duty assignment as necessary.
**Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:**

+ Thorough knowledge of distribution construction and maintenance work practices and procedures.
+ Knowledge of applicable governmental codes and regulations
+ Knowledge of basic welding and fusing principles

The successful candidate will be responsible for full stack software development owning the definition, design, implementation, and verification of geographic information system (GIS) applications for agricultural products. The candidate will be part of a small, high-performing team. Overview
The Engineering Manager is accountable for all design and development activities of existing product lines, including product line maintenance, as well as the development and implementation of new solutions and technologies within the Midland business. This position will lead a team of product development and sustaining engineers in order to deliver planned revenue and margin growth. Through demonstrated strong leadership skills and exceptional technical capability, the Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering customer-focused solutions and products.
This role will also be responsible for regulatory affairs by ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies by understanding existing and upcoming regulations and their impact on our operations. They will act as our liaison to regulatory agencies and the industry as appropriate.
Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate new product requests and determine technical aspects of project feasibility using product development processes
- Closely interface with other functional groups to effectively maximize new and sustaining engineering projects and processes
- Oversee engineering maintenance of existing products, including upgrading design specifications, utilization of new materials, and processes to facilitate effective and efficient production is consistently accomplished
- Ensure compliance with all quality regulations, standards and corporate policies including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015, AAR M-1002, and AAR M-1003 for assigned department
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and apply across engineering activities and processes. Drive the lean manufacturing culture.
- Provide guidance to the company regarding regulatory requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant industry regulations, including proposed and final rules.
- Interact with regulatory agencies and customers regarding new and existing product concerns
- Provide guidance on regulatory issues to internal teams
- Coordinate post-market actions for risk assessment and mitigation plans as needed
- Act as primary contact for communication with regulatory agencies, addressing inquires and negotiating submissions.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
- Responsible for administrative management of engineering team including activities such as hiring, organizational development, coaching, goal setting and performance evaluations, salary administration, succession planning, developmental training, etc. is regularly accomplished
- Leads determining departmental staffing needs, assist in recruiting and placement of team members as needed
- Establish standards and ensure compliance to safety and environmental compliance from team members
- Leads defining roles and responsibilities within the area and effectively delegate work within the team. Leads the daily activities of the other Engineers and others assigned to the team

- Demonstrated ability to establish and execute work plans based on the results of strategic planning and input from executive management
- Ability to perform Return on Investment (ROI) analysis and provide resulting recommendations.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Ten years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience leading technical teams, international teams preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. MBA, or Masters preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills – well developed verbal and written communications, which demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and expertise
- Prior experience interacting with regulatory agencies is highly preferred ideally with the railroad industry
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
- This position is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors when in the manufacturing environment.
