Our ideal candidate has a proven ability to work compassionately and effectively with diverse clients around various needs as a result of domestic violence. This person will assist individuals who experience DV with obtaining the protection provided under the law as well as support and advocacy services. This individual will have knowledge and understanding of the experiences of marginalized communities, working collaboratively and flexibly to meet the needs of those served. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: Provide legal information around the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act (PDVA), and related statutes to individuals. Assist survivors to file complaints and/or attend court/legal proceedings. Provide advocacy relevant to individual needs and assist clients in making informed decisions. Accompany survivors to legal proceedings. Plan and assist in the implementation of educational legal information sessions. Document statistics related to clients serviced. Establish and maintain a professional demeanor in court and with court staff. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and respond appropriately to crisis and stressful situations. Job Summary

Duties & Essential Job Functions
Volunteer Supervision
- Evaluates cases and assigns volunteers based on interest, time, skills, and experience to ensure the best outcome for the child(ren)
- Works with volunteers in developing a case plan and monitors progress on achieving the goals of the plan
- Provides supervision and guidance while monitoring volunteers’ performance on issues of confidentiality, policy, boundaries, and relationships with other professionals
- Monitors and evaluates each volunteer’s investigative and advocacy work to ensure that each child in the program receives the highest quality services
- Reviews and edits court reports to ensure they are in accordance with established guidelines and criteria, and that they are accurate, goal directed, and submitted in a timely manner
- Assists volunteers in the interpretation of psychological evaluations based on the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual Mental Disorders (DSM) V, assessments, IEP’s, Department of Family Service (DFS) Plans, etc. to ensure that appropriate placements, visitations, medications, and services are provided
- Accompanies volunteers to court hearings, meetings or visits as needed or, if required, attends in volunteers’ stead and/or makes appropriate arrangements in volunteers’ absence
- Reviews issues and progress on cases with each volunteer monthly
- Ensures that each volunteer completes the required in-service hours for continuing education
- Completes and reviews an annual written performance evaluation with each volunteer
- Maintains relationships with all professionals involved in the case to ensure quality of outcomes and a positive reputation in the community
Recruiting, Training & Outreach
- Participates in volunteer information sessions, volunteer training, and continuing education programs as requested by the Recruitment Manager and the Education Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The SAY Counselor/Social Worker provides prevention and early intervention services to middle and high school students in designated SAY School Districts. SAY services are designed to help prevent and reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs and decrease the incidence of other social and mental health problems such as substance use/abuse, teen violence, teen depression/anxiety and suicide.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- The SAY worker will work collaboratively with school principals, school counselors, teachers and other school personnel regarding the social, behavioral, emotional and environmental issues that impact student success.
- Students can be referred to the SAY worker regarding many teen related issues including but not limited to, alcohol/drugs/vaping, and issues/conflicts with peers, family, or school. The SAY worker will provide prevention strategies to help the student make healthy decisions and refer the student to a higher level of care if needed.
- The SAY worker will contact parents when necessary and will work with the parent to obtain a release of information so the SAY worker can communicate important information to necessary faculty and staff.
- The SAY worker will provide pertinent prevention education in the classroom as well as small group sessions for students that will help them learn positive coping tools, active listening skills, effective message sending, self-awareness, decision-making, communication strategies and conflict resolution.
- The SAY worker will attend parent programs in their school to provide education as well as serve as a resource to schoolwide programs on topics of concern and interest to parents/guardians and school personnel.
- When needed, the SAY worker will participate in broad, community wide education programs that promote positive adolescent health.
- The SAY worker will participate in professional trainings at Bellefaire that supports the goals of the program.
- The SAY worker will maintain timely completion of documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

- Education: Minimum Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Licensure: Valid Ohio LSW or LPC required.
