Position Overview / OPPORTUNITY:Reporting to the President, the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Production Planning has the critical responsibility of developing, executing, and leading the strategic direction of our sourcing and planning teams. Including our sourcing strategies, operational planning and scheduling strategy, and the performance / development of the Production Planning and Purchasing Teams. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead, sustain and enhance processes from sourcing material to the scheduling equipment on the shop floor.Build and develop a global supply chain through your purchasing team.Identify and implement supply chain optimization initiatives.Deploy strategies and tactics for integrated materials management, procurement, strategic sourcing, capacity planning and tactical procurement.Develop sourcing strategies both domestically and overseas.Lead initiatives to optimize company inventory levels and manage inventories held at suppliers.Drive for continually improving cost by driving favorable PPV and implementing VA/VE projects.Lead team members to develop and execute short-term and long-range capacity planning and analysis.Identify training and development needs of team and develop/execute training plans.Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies to protect key strategic objectivesWork cross-functionally to monitor customer demand patternsEXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years within a manufacturing facility. Proven success making fast data driven decisions based on the best available information and ability to adaptAbility to effectively challenge /coach leaders and others; effectively interact with employees at all levelsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage the direction and development of the team with honest communication and consistencyStrong knowledge in all areas of supply chain, including procurement, logistics, vendor management, inventory optimization, and supply and demand planningStrong analytical skills and ability create advanced spreadsheets to communicate dataEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA preferredDirector level experience leading Sourcing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and production planning departments in an industrial manufacturing environmentManagerial experience in Operations in an industrial manufacturing environmentTravel: 25-30%Strong financial acumen, with experience managing to operating income.Strong data analysis / data mining skills in Excel.
