Synchrony is hiring a VP, Strategy to support Strategy leadership and business executives in tackling some of the biggest questions facing the firm and the industry.
Today, Synchrony is a premier financial technology company focusing on providing wing-to-wing credit solutions to our business partners and the end consumer. It is the largest underwriter of Private Label Credit Cards in the United States. In addition, Synchrony offers General Purpose Credit Cards (CoBrand, Dual Card), Promo Finance, Short & Long-term Installment, Deposit, and other products.
This role reports to the SVP of Enterprise Strategy & M&A and will focus on cross-business growth and strategy initiatives and engage in the annual Strategy Session with SYF's Board of Directors.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Develop expertise in consumer payments and lending - market trends, competitive dynamics, etc.
+ Collaborate with Strategy leadership and business executives to tackle some of the most ambiguous and challenging questions facing our industry and approach solving these problems through a data-driven, analytical approach
+ Engage in the annual Strategy Session with SYF's Board of Directors including defining the agenda, developing the general content, working with leadership to prepare their individual presentations, and ensuring a thoughtful, cohesive multi-day session
+ Drive comprehensive research on competitors and the industry and develop a perspective on key industry trends
+ Work cross-functionally to ensure effective transition from strategy into design
+ Assist in managing the annual strategic planning process that will create the long-term strategy for the business
+ Prepare detailed analyses and presentations for the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
+ Present to and communicate with senior leadership across a matrixed organization
+ Work with M&A, Ventures and other stakeholders to execute an aligned acquisition / partnership strategy
+ Incubate new ideas for strategic R&D
+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
**Qualifications/Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree (MBA preferred) and 6+ years of relevant work experience, including 3+ years in Strategy Consulting.or in lieu of completed degree, must have 8+ years of relevant work experience, including 5+ years in Strategy Consulting
+ Minimum of 2 years of relationship management and leadership experience, including working with cross-functional business partners and senior leadership, communicating with both technical and non-technical resources
+ Minimum of 2 years project management managing multiple programs/projects simultaneously
+ Strength in developing data-driven perspectives and presenting insights to business leaders
+ Proficient in the use of MS Office product suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint
**Desired Characteristics** :
+ 3+ years at a top tier consulting firm
+ MBA preferred
+ Experience in Financial Services, specifically credit cards, is preferred but not required
+ Strong quantitative skills with experience creating data-driven recommendations

**Grade/Level: 13**
The salary range for this position is **130,000.00 - 210,000.00** USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
**Eligibility Requirements:**
