**Business Development Specialist**
**Position Summary**
Catalent Pharma and Consumer Health (PCH) is a fast-growing business within Catalent Pharma Solutions focused on providing innovative technologies and solutions to help patients and consumers receive better treatments and products. The business includes Softgel, Liquid Filled Hard Shell, Liquid in Bottle, Zydis® ODT, and various Solid Dose technologies and products including Rx, Gx, OTC, VMS, and Topicals or Topical Skin Care.

The Business Development Specialist is expected to support the Region's growth by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to expedite the achievement of the Region's goals and objectives, focusing on identifying key business targets and expanding the customer base. The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will report to the Regional Director of Business Development. In this role, this individual will assist in prospecting with regional sales team members with new business opportunities that align with Catalent's strategic goals, participate in onsite (in factory) and customer face-to-face meetings with the regional individual sales team members, support the progress and enact actions within the Regional territory plans prepared by the regional sales team members.
**The Role:**
+ Identify and engage potential clients through cold calling, networking, and industry research.
+ Support Regional sales team members in developing and executing sales strategies.
+ Collaborate with seasoned colleagues to transfer opportunities seamlessly and ensure a smooth sales process.
+ Present and promote CDMO services to prospective clients, highlighting key benefits.
+ Assist in contract negotiations and closing deals under guidance from senior team members.
+ Utilize and maintain accurate CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to track and manage customer interactions, update contact information, and monitor progress on leads and opportunities. Provide regular follow-up reporting on sales activities, including pipeline updates, lead conversion rates, and sales forecasts.
+ Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**The Candidate:**
+ Bachelor's degree in science, business administration or another related field preferred; Advanced scientific degree and/or Master of Business Administration / commercially orientated degree is advantageous but not essential.
+ 0-3 years of relevant experience in B2B sales, Business Development, Project Management, or another customer-facing role. Previous experience with Catalent preferred. Pharma or Consumer Health industry experience preferred.
+ Sales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry preferred.
+ Hunting mentality mandatory.
+ Demonstrate willingness to learn new methods and partner with other BD team members to learn basics of selling.
+ Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in CDMO sales.
+ The ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to meet with clients and attend industry events.
+ Excellent communication in English plus local language of territory (if applicable) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
**Pay:**
The annual pay range for this position in New Jersey is $66,330 - $101,400

It may be combined with other job descriptions as needed based on individual branch and market needs in the geographical area of recruitment. The Business Development Specialist is on the front line, helping prospective customers learn about the Commercial Staffing division of Staffing 360 Solutions. Business Development Specialists develop phone-based and face-to-face revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, meetings, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers and internal operations team. Essential Functions

  1. Develop a solid working knowledge of the Commercial Staffing division of Staffing 360 Solutions in order to be able to adequately present the company to prospective Clients.
  2. Territory management and developing business with prospective strategic customers.
  3. Saturation and retention of existing customers in the light industrial vertical
  4. Gain a thorough understanding of the customer’s needs/business issues and select the appropriate solution to meet those needs.
  5. Closing sales through effective negotiation, by exploring alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain all parties’ support and acceptance.
  6. Accountable for generating qualified leads to ensure the achievement of increased revenue and gross margin goals, while in an outside sales environment.
  7. Work together with Staffing Specialists to act as the account liaison to manage needs and grow account sales. Develops individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts to enhance team collaboration on accounts.
  8. Develop and implement plans to maximize and leverage phone time during working hours, including pre-call planning to meet metrics as designated by region.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years selling within the staffing industry as well as sales experience within VMS and MSP platforms
  • Strong experience in negotiating highly complex contracts up through the C-Suite
  • Proven track record managing a multi-million-dollar book of business
  • Well-connected within geography with strong pipeline of leads.
  • Strong understanding of Light Industrial/Manufacturing Vertical Markets
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Can travel to clients within a 25-mile radius of office as needed with or without advanced notice
  • Additional overnight travel may be required up to 20% of time
  • A strong business aptitude with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • An outstanding outgoing, dynamic, competitive, confident, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Metrics-orientated and able to work under pressure and communicate with different levels of management and diverse personality types.

This role involves achieving financial, strategic, and operational goals for the department.
**Responsibilities**
Directing and coordinating construction and maintenance activities with the facilities team and outside consultants, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations such as State Building code, OSHA, Joint Commission, and NFPA
Overseeing all departmental budgets, productivity, and quality management initiatives, as well as projects related to energy conservation and sustainability

Managing vendors for outsourced services related to facilities, maintenance, design, and construction, including contract review and negotiation

Developing and implementing programs to maintain the physical plant, grounds, and equipment through the effective use of personnel and materials. You will also chair at least one of the sub-committees of the Environment of Care Committee (Life Safety/Utilities/Construction Management).
Overseeing the development and management of project cost estimates and schedules for renovations or new projects, and making recommendations for cost reductions and schedule improvements as needed

**Qualifications**
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is required; however, equivalent, relevant experience may be substituted

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required
