**Key responsibilities for this role include:**
+ Strong knowledge and experience as a quality assurance resource for data analysis, problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
+ Support root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.

+ Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Product management to identify and reduce sources of chronic customer complaints, manufacturing and laboratory quality issues, waste/scrap generation, and improve overall production inefficiencies.
+ Provide leadership and mentoring to the organization on Lean principles, by promoting the use of Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC, Kaizen, etc.)
+ Create key process flows and/or value stream maps.
+ Facilitate and mentor team on FMEAs
+ Perform capability and other statistical assessments to meet organization goals in reducing process variability.
+ Drive problem solving methodologies (8D/MBPS) to find root cause of observed defects, devise a short-term contaminant strategy, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurring problems, per internal and external customer expectations, including facilitating customer taskforce activities.
+ Perform other duties, as assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS**
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or Quality Engineering, with specialization in Quality Systems and Statistics.
+ Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience in QA systems, semiconductor industry preferred.
+ Must have experience as a quality assurance resource for data analysis, problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
+ Experience in design and development of new product introduction.
+ Strong knowledge and experience for problem solving techniques such as 5 Why's, Fishbone, Process mapping, etc., to identify root cause and define CAPA.

Primary Responsibilities
+ Work with internal process owners to develop manufacturing processes, build instructions, and oversee supplier production runs. Must understand Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and its purpose in an electronic system's product lifecycle.
+ Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, convection reflow, wave/selective solder, conformal coating, potting and box build.
+ Support the supply chain through analysis of alternate electrical components and commodity management. Understanding component obsolescence standards, processes, and mitigation.
Basic Qualifications
+ Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
+ BA/BS in Engineering and 5-10 years of electronic manufacturing experience (Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
+ Be familiar with the AS9100 standard and its purpose in an electronic system's product lifecycle.
+ Possess knowledge and experience with the manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance of electronic systems and/or circuit card assembly of varying complexities.
+ Direct knowledge of the circuit card assembly supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods
+ Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001:2015.
+ The ability to rapidly assess, analyze, and quickly resolve quality problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
+ Solid organizational skills, ability to work and interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
+ Must have product electronic manufacturing experience. Understanding of printed circuit board, circuit card assembly, box build manufacturing processes.
+ Deep understanding of J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, configuration management, environmental and vibration testing, hand soldering/assembly processes and equipment.

**Your Day to Day as a Quality Assurance Engineer:**
+ Participate in procedure development and ownership, to include maintenance of ISO-9000 quality system procedures and work instructions.
+ Certify as Auditor to support internal and external quality system audits.
+ Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to support manufacturing delivery of first-time, defect-free product.
+ Participate in causal analysis of nonconformities and identify corrective actions to prevent recurrence and/or mitigating actions to reduce probability of recurrence.
+ Support resolution of quality issues and nonconformities.
+ Perform periodic surveillances and self-assessments to ensure quality system compliance.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans and quality system improvements.
+ Support of inspection personnel, NDT Level III/NAVSEA Examiners and development of inspection techniques.
+ Perform maintenance of quality assurance records.
+ Perform analysis and trending of quality data to implement product improvement actions.
+ Perform supplier quality/oversight activities.
+ Participate in CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.
+ Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ A bachelor's degree is required with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering or technical discipline.
+ A minimum of two years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Must have basic educational knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
+ Hands-on manufacturing experience for industrial equipment and familiarity with both traditional and advanced manufacturing methods is desired
+ Must have demonstrated the ability to lead teams of technical people and have strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations
+ Strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer in machining, welding manufacturing, non-destructive testing, shop surveillance, inspection, data trending, procedure development, supplier quality/oversight, and corrective action.
+ Experience with manufacturing for nuclear reactor applications.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be the subject matter expert for the validation strategy and maintain ownership of the Muskegon site Validation Master Plan.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is part of the Quality Assurance Department located in Muskegon, MI and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
+ Review and approve user requirement documentation (URS), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and equipment Installation Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), process validation (PV), cleaning validation (CV) protocols and/or Plans and Reports.
+ Assist and approve deviation investigations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs), process improvements related to equipment qualification and validation activities.
+ Be the subject matter expert for Change Control on launched products, managing the local Change Management Board.
+ Improve and develop QMS work instructions and cross train as a backup for other QA members.
+ Participate in quality walks and internal audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Who you are:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College, preferably in a Science or Engineering discipline.
+ Multiple years working experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.
+ Experience in equipment qualifications, process validations, cleaning validations and computer software validations.
+ Previous experience in root cause, corrective action, preventative action and process improvement.
+ Understanding of ISO 9001, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) requirements.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel up to 10% a year.
+ Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
