Job Description

Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To:

  • Monitor the cold chain channel from incoming goods to outgoing.
    • Verifies temperature in plant/products
    • Pre-Shipment Review
  • Conducts Pre-Ops to include ATP swabbing
  • Verifies Critical Control Points, Good Manufacturing Practices during production
  • Properly fill out and maintain food safety forms
  • Work with management to enforce company policies and procedures pertaining to food safety to ensure best practices are followed and reinforced.
  • Other tasks and duties as directed by Processing Manager.
Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated individual with food manufacturing experience and proficiency in computer skills to join our team as a Quality Assurance Specialist. This role involves interacting with the production team to ensure adherence to food safety processes and procedures, managing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and verifying finished product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all government food safety regulations and maintain the highest possible industry food safety ratings.

  • Ensure that the facility follows all GMP, HACCP guidelines, and company policies.

  • Verify and assure compliance with established food safety and quality objectives through daily monitoring programs, plant supervision, and ongoing verification of internal controls.

  • Enforce new and improved quality, food safety, and sanitation programs, policies, and procedures to ensure that established standards are consistently measured, documented, and maintained.

  • Maintain and recommend improvements to workplace safety programs, procedures, and policies.

  • Perform and document Food Safety Critical Control Points (CCP) and quality documentation, per procedure.

  • Perform ATP and environmental swabs per procedure.

  • Inform management of shortages in supplies for quality assurance, sanitation, and operations as appropriate. Assist in identifying adequate supply levels.

  • Collect accurate, detailed, and timely data, and communicate corrective actions to deviations while upholding company standards and expectations.

  • Experience in quality assurance, quality control, and food manufacturing.

  • PCQI and HACCP certified.

  • Knowledge and experience in food microbiology, food safety, and sanitation systems.

Random sampling of finished goods pallets in the warehouse.

Conduct, where appropriate, testing of materials.

Accurately sorting Quarantined Product and keeping this area organized

Checking/sampling of finished goods pallets in the warehouse if needed

Conducting Glass and Brittle Materials audits and publishing results.

Job Specifications:

Previous quality control experience or excellent packaging knowledge.

Experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally print and/or packaging).

Commercial/cost awareness.

Excellent communication skills essential, ability to give clear written and verbal instructions, clearly understand and explain Quality issues to workforce and have good understanding of procedures and processes.

3. Notify the respective QIDP/Nurse of discrepancies and provide a corrective action plan to ensure corrections in a timely fashion.
  • Follow up on corrective action plans and notify HAS leadership team, as necessary, of any unresolved issues.
4. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and clear communication.

5. Ensure ongoing personal, professional development by attending annual training as directed.

6. Maintain filing via participant binders, overflow files, and SharePoint.

7. Help with all surveys from L&C, BDDS, and the Integrity Unit, including preparation and throughout the survey timeframe.

8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Residential Operations, Director of Nursing, Program Director, or Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2+ years of quality assurance or inspection experience in manufacturing (marine industry a plus).

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, inspection tools, and testing procedures.

  • Familiarity with composite materials, adhesives, and marine-grade components is an advantage.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and QA software (experience with Dynamic systems a plus).
