The Senior Manager HRBP - SR&D partners with senior leadership across Scientific Research & Development and globally Research & Science to help drive Reynold's People vision and strategy. **Your key responsibilities will include:**
+ Employee Support for all SR&D G37 & Below Employees
+ Primary strategic partner to SR&D Extended Leadership Teams in deploying HR Strategies, needs assessments and resulting HR solutions.
+ Serve as a steward of HR Cycle Plan Activities (talent management & rewards processes) for SR&D to ensure executional excellence.
+ Partner with Global R&S HRBP to align talent process and ways of working. This requires a high level of interaction with global stakeholders and a thorough understanding of the interdependences between SR&D and global R&S.
+ Partner with Talent & OE team to Build Functional and Leadership Capability building plans for SR&D.
+ Partner with SR&D Extended Leadership Teams to deploy SR&D Engagement Strategy (strong focus on empowerment and driving a listening culture).
+ Partner with Extended SR&D LT to strategically design & deliver a fit-for-future-SR&D OD for the G36 and below levels. Support OD transformational projects for SR&D ensuring BAT OD Principles, Governance Process and Talent Principles are embedded in planning & execution.
+ In addition to those responsibilities, this role provides leadership for driving the successful execution of the following for all of SR&D:
+ Ownership of Rewards Cycle Plan activities for SR&D.
**What are we looking for?**
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in progressively responsible roles within human resources, including human resources business partner or "generalist" roles.
- Previous rotation in a specialist role is a plus. Experience
- Knowledgeable in leading edge business practices, trends and information; aware of reward and benefits strategies and innovative tactics being applied in the marketplace.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop individuals at all levels and with an array of skill sets.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in business, human resources or a related field preferred.
- Decisive, demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting demands (most critical - will be used when advertising the role)
- Strong collaboration and team-oriented approach with an ability to positively influence others across an organization at all levels.

With limited supervision from the R&D Director, the R&D Manager is responsible for managing analytic labs, supporting technical services at mills and converters, and leading product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical analysis of samples using FTIR, GCMS, Optical Microscope, and all Tappi-based test equipment.
- Lead investigations utilizing both internal and external analytical resources.
- Provide expertise in board and converting to offer recommendations based on sample analytics.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot board, coating, converting, and printing technical issues.
- Support new product development (NPD) initiatives for the mill division and AMC as needed.
- Conduct competitive analysis including board comparisons, business models, competitor capabilities, and future capacity.

- Establish and maintain key relationships with suppliers.
- Assist in the development of existing and new GPI packaging concepts, focusing on manufacturability.

- Provide engineering expertise to support R&D activities aligning with new business objectives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on customer commitments and timelines.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on project progress to senior staff and customers.
- Engage with customers during concept, design, and process development phases for new packaging initiatives.
- Expertise in paper and paperboard physical properties and coating technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and safely operate in a manufacturing environment, including handling industrial chemicals and machinery.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, teams, and executive leadership.

Job Description SummaryThe Research & Development (R&D) Director is responsible for leading the development of new products and improving all aspects of quality manufacturing process of confectionary products in all See's manufacturing locations. Leads effective teams in Los Angeles and San Francisco facilities that work cross functionally with Operations and Engineering to develop new confections, improve product, and process and troubleshoot quality issues. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $205k to $229k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description Key Responsibilities- Develops new products and leads a team that development new products. This includes developing bench top samples in the R&D lab and scaling approved bench top samples to the manufacturing floor. This includes supporting development of nutritional labels for newly developed products, as needed.
- Evaluates new processing equipment and new processes in both LA and SF to ensure product performs to See's established specifications for flavor, appearance, texture and color throughout its shelf life.
- Monitors and leads a team that monitors production of candy to ensure candy flavor, appearance, and texture produced meets expectations.
- Plays key role in investigating all quality problems with the candy in equipment, processes, ingredients, and formula compliance. Analyzes rejected or scrapped product; works with FSQA and Operations teams to trend collected data and determine root cause. Identifies opportunities for product/process improvement and cost reduction.
- Trains and develops people at all levels (from shop floor to management) on manufacturing confections skills.
- Ensures change management and process improvement as the Food Safety and Process Improvement Champion.
- Integrally involved in waste reduction as part of process improvement. Reduces waste caused by poor production situations, or generated during the course of making candy. Also looks for usage opportunities of high-quality ingredients that are deemed unusable for other reasons (splits on nuts, pieces instead of halves, leftover raw materials from special items, etc.)
- Ensures there are written, detailed finished product specifications for shop floor in all manufacturing plants to support consistency in product quality and performance. Also generates specs for company-wide use.
- Responsible for ensuring effective and accurate maintenance of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) manufacturing recipes.
- Evaluates raw materials from new suppliers to ensure consistency with the spec for each piece; participates in qualifying/review of new suppliers for ongoing supply.
- Part of the sensory group that tastes produced product and ingredients to ensure consistency with Company expectations.
- Establishes/confirms shelf life of ingredients, intermediate/work in progress (WIP) products and finished goods through structured studies and tests, including sensory evaluation. Communicates progress to all departments associated with projects in writing and/or in person, as situation dictates.
