**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented **Senior Revenue Accountant** to join our growing finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate revenue recognition across multiple business units, with a strong focus on subscription-based revenue streams. The ideal candidate will bring public accounting experience, a deep understanding of software revenue models, and a global perspective to support our international operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Own and manage the monthly revenue close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
+ Analyze and reconcile revenue accounts across multiple business units.
+ Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant revenue recognition standards.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, FP&A) to review contracts and assess revenue implications.
+ Support audits and provide documentation for revenue-related inquiries, including international statutory audits.
+ Assist in the implementation and optimization of revenue systems and processes.
+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, budget to actual and flux analyses.

**Qualifications**
+ **Bachelor's or Master's degree** Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
+ CPA qualified
+ **3-5+ years of public accounting experience** required, ideally with a focus on revenue recognition.
+ Experience working in a **multi-entity or multi-business unit environment** .
+ Strong understanding of **subscription revenue models** , preferably in a **software/SaaS business** .

The Senior Revenue Accountant provides research, guidance and validation (review of work) on invoicing and revenue recognition for standard and complex customer contracts/agreements. + With limited supervision, use technical expertise to determine proper revenue recognition of various types of contracts within the organization. Provide this information in a usable format to the Client Billing group.
+ Works with Client Billing group to establish appropriate checks and balances in addition to invoicing in a manner that is professional, required by the customer and has the ability to recognize appropriately per GAAP.
+ Establish and maintain appropriate documentation as back up for billing along with procedures for completing and recognizing revenue.
+ Completes monthly General Ledger account reconciliations for revenue related accounts.
+ Develop and maintain regular reports via the company's accounting system.
+ Considers sales tax impact when reviewing contracts and invoicing.

The **Senior Revenue Accountant** will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing revenue agreements, sales transactions, and business models, to ensure accurate recognition, reporting, and compliance. To be successful in the role, ability to work well in a team, possess phenomenal detail orientation, and innovative within a fast-paced environment.
This position will work across the business units to understand their revenue transactions, build impactful reporting, and synthesize the data into executive level summaries. This position works closely with various departments within the organization using collaboration and interpersonal skills.
**What You'll Do Here:**
+ Supports cross-functional processes related to revenue while utilizing JD Edwards Enterprise One & Hyperion.
+ Partner with the business to understand their revenue and ensure proper revenue treatment in accordance with US GAAP (ASC-606).
+ Develop a strong understanding of SAP's RAR, Cengage's revenue processing system and be able to help research and troubleshoot transactions through the system.
+ Develop an in-depth understanding of the various transaction types and product set-up codes, and the impact of those and transactions and codes on reported financial information
+ Develop reporting and use that to inform the business and management
+ Develop analytical models to identify trends within sales, returns, and cost of goods sold.
+ Responsible for monthly reconciliations and waterfall schedules.
+ Responsible for the quarterly balance sheet causal presentations and disclosure preparation.
+ Follows control procedures and supports audit requests.
+ Participates in other duties as needed to meet department objectives and company goals.
**Skills You Will Need Here:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance desired
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with revenue transactions and accounting guidance around revenue
+ Solid understanding of MS Excel (pivots & lookups & Power Pivot); experience with a BI solution is a plus
+ Quantitatively inclined, results oriented, innovative, adaptable, strong attention to detail, and capable of working independently

The **Senior Revenue Accountant** will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing revenue agreements, sales transactions, and business models, to ensure accurate recognition, reporting, and compliance. To be successful in the role, ability to work well in a team, possess phenomenal detail orientation, and innovative within a fast-paced environment.
This position will work across the business units to understand their revenue transactions, build impactful reporting, and synthesize the data into executive level summaries. This position works closely with various departments within the organization using collaboration and interpersonal skills.
**What You'll Do Here:**
+ Supports cross-functional processes related to revenue while utilizing JD Edwards Enterprise One & Hyperion.
+ Partner with the business to understand their revenue and ensure proper revenue treatment in accordance with US GAAP (ASC-606).
+ Develop a strong understanding of SAP's RAR, Cengage's revenue processing system and be able to help research and troubleshoot transactions through the system.
+ Develop an in-depth understanding of the various transaction types and product set-up codes, and the impact of those and transactions and codes on reported financial information
+ Develop reporting and use that to inform the business and management
+ Develop analytical models to identify trends within sales, returns, and cost of goods sold.
+ Responsible for monthly reconciliations and waterfall schedules.
+ Responsible for the quarterly balance sheet causal presentations and disclosure preparation.
+ Follows control procedures and supports audit requests.
+ Participates in other duties as needed to meet department objectives and company goals.
**Skills You Will Need Here:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance desired
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with revenue transactions and accounting guidance around revenue
+ Solid understanding of MS Excel (pivots & lookups & Power Pivot); experience with a BI solution is a plus
+ Quantitatively inclined, results oriented, innovative, adaptable, strong attention to detail, and capable of working independently
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
+ Ability to identify exceptions and develop innovative and creative solutions
+ Strong Communication Skills to effectively collaborate with people across the company
+ Experience with ERP Systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or Enterprise One and experience with management and consolidation tools similar to Hyperion.
+ Proficient with financial reporting and accounting systems and Microsoft Office programs.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
