BACKGROUND - NEW SINGLE ROLE AMBULANCE SYSTEM
The District is implementing a new single-role ambulance staffing program. Between October 2025 and January 2026, the District plans to fill 17 positions associated with the new program. Positions associated with the program are: Senior Single Role Paramedic, Single Role Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician. Candidates are encouraged to apply for the one position that best matches their work experience and qualifications. The District reserves the right to consider applicants for any of the three single-role ambulance positions.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Ambulance Supervisor provides the highest-level emergency medical care at both the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) levels. The incumbent responds to both critical and non-critical medical responses working with an EMT partner and members of an engine or truck company on certain responses. In addition to emergency medical work, the Senior Single Role Paramedic is responsible for assisting the MOFD Ambulance Supervisor in providing EMS support functions such as CQI, narcotics control and infection control officer. The Senior Single Role Paramedic will be tasked with assisting the Ambulance Supervisor in conducting regular EMS drills and continuing education sessions.
Examples of Duties
- Assist crew in maintaining vehicle readiness in accordance with MOFD policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate level of cleanliness for all EMS supplies stocked on the member's assigned ambulance.
- Ensures all EMS supplies and equipment is maintained in a ready status such that response is never delayed.
- Performs daily narcotic checks according to MOFD policies.
- Responds to EMS calls across the district. Operate MOFD EMS vehicles in accordance with all California Vehicle Codes and District regulations.
- On scene provides appropriate level of BLS and ALS assessments and interventions.
- Provides care according to the standards established by the Contra Costa LEMSA policies and protocols.
- Provides care and transportation to people experiencing medical emergencies ensuring patients are transported to receiving facilities as outlined in the Contra Costa LEMSA policy manual.
- Provides appropriate care and documentation for individuals refusing care or transport.
- Follows the direction of incident commanders during large-scale responses such as structure or wildland fires.
- Performs station duties as assigned by the station captain.
- Takes part in drills and other training.
- Maintains all appropriate licenses and certifications to include AHA ACLS, PALS, or PHTLS instructor card(s).
- Assist in District-wide BLS certification.
- Complete reports in a timely manner.
- Assist the Ambulance Supervisor in CQI, narcotics control and infection control functions.
- Participate in community outreach activities.
- Assist in annual District-wide AHA and PHTLS certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12) grade.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paramedic in a 911 system.
- Teaching Experience with instructor certifications of AHA and PHTLS or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of appointment.
- Accredited Paramedic in Contra Costa County or the ability to obtain accreditation within six (6) months of appointment.

- Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver's License.
- Possession of a valid State of California Paramedic License at the time of application and the ability to maintain a State of California Paramedic license.

The District is a member of the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association (CCCERA). Employees classified as Senior Single Role Paramedics, Single Role Paramedics and Single Role Emergency Medical Technicians are non-safety members and receive retirement benefits of 2%@55 (Legacy) or 2%@62 (PEPRA).
The District contributes up to 2,703 per month to each employee based on the employee's benefit enrollment level applied to health coverage. District-paid dental and vision programs are available to employees.
Uniform Pay of 61 per month.
Holiday Pay in the amount of eight hours of overtime pay for each holiday in-lieu of holidays off.
Deferred Compensation Savings Plan (457) is available to employees.
American Fidelity voluntary insurances are available to include a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), disability income, critical illness and life insurance.

Job Responsibilities:
- Drive commercial energy consulting sales in C/I market (large accounts) including electricity contract management and natural gas procurement.
- Develop, maintain, and retain satisfied long-term client portfolios while achieving new business acquisition and retention goals.
- Represent Freedom Energy Logistics professionally across media platforms, community events, and business functions.
- Identify client goals and objectives, including risk tolerance, strategic energy procurement strategies, and recommend appropriate solutions including renewable energy solutions.
- Provide energy advisory services including energy portfolio management, energy risk management, and renewable energy solutions.
- Maintain regular communication on KPIs with sales management and update the sales database with client information and contract expiration dates.
- Execute pricing requests, client enrollment procedures, and internal documentation.
- Deliver exceptional client service and satisfaction.
- Perform administrative responsibilities and collaborate effectively within our high-energy team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- An established book of commercial energy business.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel comfort.
- Previous track record of quota overachievement and pipeline management for strategic sales execution.
- Solution-selling experience beyond product sales, with strong attention to detail and 100% integrity.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated approach with strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance for client site visits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or associate degree preferred.
- Energy consulting services experience and/or renewable energy certifications advantageous.
- Direct experience in energy procurement sales and account management.
- Salesforce or comparable CRM experience.
- Proven energy advisory services track record with established client base.
