The Senior Staff Engineer position is based out of our Byron Clean Energy facility in Byron, IL.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Functions with recognized industry-level of expertise in a technical area.

- Perform advanced engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations.

The Senior Staff Accountant assists the accounting manager with full-cycle accounting and financial analysis. This position will support the senior accountants, accounting manager and varies director(s) of accounting/finance to ensure accuracy of accounting records and financial statements. RESPONSIBILITIES- Partner and collaborate with other accounting team members to provide accounting services to assigned operating companies in U.S
- Perform monthly close functions, including account reconciliations, accruals and preparation of journal entries
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on a monthly basis
- Ensure that adequate supporting documentation and approvals are maintained for audit purposes
- Ensure all month-end journal entries are recorded following the monthly close schedule.

- 3-7 years of combined accounting experience within a medium-to-large business

- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, internal controls and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP or other accounting applications, especially Oracle, AS400 and SAP

- Ensures all accounting activities performed comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies
- Responds to tax and audit inquiries to provide data and conduct analysis as appropriate
- Performs other ad-hoc projects and reporting as required
- Provides general direction and support to administrative staff (A/P & A/R) in the Accounting department

We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join the accounting department of a company in the greater Sacramento area. Our client offers a collaborative and positive work environment. The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements, job costing, daily cash management including bank reconciliations and deposits. The Senior Staff Accountant will also develop and manage accounting systems, practices, controls, and procedures, providing financial reports to management.
Salary Range : $75,000-$87,000 based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform month-end close duties, including preparing journal entries in accordance with GAAP or Management Accounting.
- Prepare lead sheets for balance sheet accounts and generate monthly close binders for review.
- Prepare GAAP-based financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, equity roll forwards, and supplemental statements.
- Compile month-end reports, including project cash flow and third-party debt schedules.
- Compare budget to actual financial results and explain variances.
- Manage daily cash operations, including deposits, wires, ACH withdrawals, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Handle accounts receivable and payable functions for affiliate billings.
