SCOPE OF WORK
The agency needs the service of a Quality Assurance Tester. The candidate will serve in the capacity of a Quality Assurance tester will communicate a well-defined vision of how IT and the business will align and make sure that everyone if following the same principles, methodologies, and support activities per the direction of agency management.
The specific focus of this candidate will be to ensure that new systems are built in a way that best ensures that functional requirements are met whilst also ensuring that service qualities (Performance, scalability, extensibility, maintainability, security, interoperability) for now and for the future are achievable. In addition, this role is responsible for testing software applications and products to ensure they meet the quality standards and specifications set by the company or client. The role involves designing, executing and maintaining test plans, documenting defects, collaborating with the development team, and ensuring the overall quality and functionality of the software.
Specific Services Required:
In the role of the Software Quality Assurance Tester, the following services are required:
Work on all testing activities and testing all solution components as well as creating and maintain required technical documentation.
ssist in the preparation of Quality Assurance planning
ssist to develop strategies for end to end system testing.
ssist in all testing processes involving the migration and integration of new and legacy technologies.
ssists in the development of testing blueprints, testing patterns, templates for best in class software testing and to ensure high levels of software performance.
Work with the Agile Team to establish goals and release quality while meeting requirements of projects.
Work with management to supply input for key testing decisions, as well as work estimation and resource planning.
Takes proactive escalation of system problems or design flaws to upper management before serious impact on ROI.
Defines, Documents and communicates the strategy will entire team.
Makes sure everyone is following the testing standards and strategies and using them correctly.
Responsible for communicating testing vision, strategy, and methodology to management.
Interface with the user(s) and sponsor(s) and all other stakeholders in order to determine their (evolving) needs.
Reviews and assists in defining the QA and UAT Testing Environments Configuration.
Reviews all system requirements, test scripts, test scenarios in order to create appropriate testing workflow. Ensures that this set of high level requirements is consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined.
Reviews software components and collaborates with development group, Product Owners, System Teams, and Operations to ensure best overall testing strategies, best practices and techniques for testing.
Interfaces with the design and implementation teams, so that any problems arising during QA can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and user needs and constraints.
Collaborates on a set of acceptance test requirements, together with the project teams, and the user, which determine that all of the high level requirements have been met, especially for the computer-human-interface.
Tests systems with functional tests, regression tests, load tests, ADA/508c/AWGA compliance, Cross Browser Compatibility, Mobile Compatibility.
Responsible for test case scenarios and testing for Agile Delivery Team to meet Acceptance Criteria
Develop QA test case scenarios developed by the Agile SCRUM teams.
Reviewing and analyzing project requirements, specifications, and user stories to ensure they are complete, consistent, and testable.
Designing and executing manual test cases to verify software functionality, user interface, performance, and other requirements.
Creating and maintaining test documentation, such as test plans, test cases, and test reports.
Reporting and documenting defects and issues found during testing, and tracking their progress through to resolution.
Communicating and collaborating with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Participating in project planning and estimating efforts to provide accurate timelines for testing activities.
Performing regression testing to ensure that changes and fixes do not introduce new defects.
Providing feedback on the user experience and making suggestions for improvements.
Participating in continuous improvement activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
Staying up to date with industry best practices, new testing techniques, and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver business and technical value.
Must have very strong abstract thinking and problem solving skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux System Engineer with a background in Quality Assurance (QA), particularly in virtualized environments using Hyper-V. In this role, you will focus on building and managing Linux-based virtual environments for testing purposes, automating QA processes, and ensuring efficient system performance. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing Hyper-V infrastructure and developing automation solutions to support our testing and development cycles.

The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Manage and configure Linux-based virtual environments within Hyper-V for QA testing purposes.
  • Build and automate tools that streamline QA processes and support efficient software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain test environments, ensuring that they replicate real-world scenarios and are stable for testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Linux environment, applications, and performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Create and manage scripts to automate manual testing tasks and monitoring.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to design, implement, and maintain test environments that simulate production systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Hyper-V virtualization platform and managing virtualized Linux environments.
  • Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc.).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
  • You must learn the ThreatLocker products, features, and use cases.
  • Proficiency in configuring and using ThreatLocker products.
  • Stay updated on product updates and actively participate in training.
