ESPN Creative Studio is a unit within the Content division of ESPN. Our staff comprises of Motion Graphics, Edit, Visual Storytelling, Production Enhancements and Innovations, Creative Operations, and the Music group. Positions within Creative Studio include; Video Editors, Post Editors, Producer Editors, Sound Design, Graphic Designers, Project Managers and Art Directors, etc. We are the go-to destination to conceptualize, develop, and execute content creation across all domestic and international ESPN distribution platforms.
The Video Editor, Creative Studio position possesses an advanced ability for non-linear video editing in a fast-paced sport news environment. The Video Editor is expected to be an effective collaborator within various Edit areas and partners to help support the creative process, while editing at an advanced creative level. They help develop personnel, projects, and individual skillsets that propel Edit and Creative Studio into the future.
**Responsibilities** :
+ Exhibits advanced skill to assemble and create content using non-linear editing software in a fast-paced sport news environment.
+ Strong editing skills, effective communication, and ability to perform well under pressure, high demand, strict timelines and/or live conditions with little supervision.
+ Ensure all created content meets ESPN's high standards for video and audio quality. Conducts quality control measuring and corrective action steps to ensure and/or enhance video content.
+ Demonstrates a strong knowledge of edit workflow, software and facility layout in assigned areas.
+ Responsible for adhering to established organization of media and naming conventions.
+ Establish strong relationships and gain knowledge of our partners, including their impact and/or specific integration with Creative Studio.
+ Advanced organizational, creative, communication, and planning skills are required for team collaborative success.
+ Provides strong service to all collaborative partners. 
+ Must have the skill and attitude to train less experienced editors on edit workflows and software.
+ Will write and provide feedback in training initiatives and project contributions.
+ Keep updated on knowledge of industry technology and help establish new workflows to create accurate and effective results on specific or future assignments.
+ Must have the ability to train and learn new. techniques/software platforms that aligns with industry needs and trends.
+ Ability to identify and quickly escalate issues. Recommend solutions and/or resolve operational errors and equipment failures. 
+ Provide strong multi-directional communication to ensure success of assignments and accomplishments. Self-initiate creative projects and pitch ideas towards departmental objectives.
+ Strong understanding of multiple file-based formats and provide file-based ingest support.
**Qualifications** :
+ A minimum of 4 years of editing or related experience.
+ Advanced understanding of non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid, Grass Valley Edius or Qube, etc.).
+ Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
+ Skilled in media transfer workflows (ingest/publish/export).
+ Strong understanding of audio and video broadcast quality control (video scopes, audio levels, CALM Act compliance, etc.).
+ Ability to collaborate and work in a quick turn-around, sport newsroom environment.
+ Candidates must have a good computer background (Microsoft Office, Slack, Workfront, etc.).
+ Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Senior Video Editor will play a critical role in producing high-quality video content across all CBH brands that will inspire our customers and showcase our unique style. They will be the creative and technical leader in our post-production process, responsible for all aspects of video editing including interpreting storyboards, finessing edits from round-to-round, color grading, and final delivery.
This is a 5-day onsite position based out of our Chicago, IL Photo Studio.
A day in the life as a Senior Video Editor.
+ Serve as the lead editor and/or finishing editor on a variety of projects, transforming raw footage or work-in-progress edits into compelling, finished video content
+ Work closely with the video team manager, art directors, and videographers to understand creative direction during the editing process
+ Attend weekly video review meetings with creative leadership; Responsible for presenting videos, taking notes, providing information, and creative solutions as needed during the meeting
+ Show up to meetings prepared and engaged. Manage and direct junior editors, providing mentorship, feedback, and guidance to ensure a high standard of work across all projects
+ Execute advanced post-production tasks, including complex editing, motion graphics, VFX, and color grading
+ Ensure all edited content aligns with the CBH brands visual and narrative language, making sure every detail is on-brand and polished
+ Oversee the entire post-production workflow, including media management, project organization, and timely delivery of final assets for various platforms (web, social media, etc.)
+ Maintain an up to date knowledge of applicable digital programs
What you'll bring to the table.
+ Deep understanding of storytelling through editing, with the ability to craft compelling narratives from raw footage
+ Instinctual understanding of the brand's visual language and can translate it into a polished and compelling video narrative
+ Meticulous eye and the ability to spot and correct minor flaws, inconsistencies, or distractions to ensure the final video is flawless
+ Clearly articulate your ideas and collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external partners.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain crew morale in a fast-paced environment

+ 10 years of professional experience as a working Video Editor, with a robust portfolio showcasing a range of post-production skills.
+ Experience in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and After Effects

+ Knowledge of professional video editing software, cinema cameras and color spaces
+ Detail oriented with strong verbal and written skills
Minimum Starting Rate: $28.00 Hourly
Up to: $40.00 Hourly

This Senior Video Editor will join an In-House AV Creative Studio embracing a future where our creative storytelling contributes to our goal of becoming the world's most beloved video streaming company. In this role, you will work on Amazon MGM Studios title campaigns and Prime Video Brand and Marketplace creative. You will edit dynamic and engaging video marketing and content across a variety of executions at the core, but you will also brainstorm, ideate, script, music supervise, sound design, mix and present your work. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, from other editors, designers, creative directors, strategists, post producers, cross-functional partners to creative operations management. You will participate in regular AV team creative reviews and provide feedback to help raise the creative bar and share technical expertise. This full-time role is required to work on-premise, not remotely.
Key job responsibilities
* Raise the bar creatively, delivering best-in-class marketing AV that surprise and delight our global customers
* Develop, edit, and deliver on the following types of content including, but not limited to, 360 marketing assets supporting brand-specific multi-title campaigns, brand statement campaigns, single-title theatrical and streaming campaigns, short form content for social channels, and sizzle reels.
* Insist on the highest standards, meeting and exceeding marketing objectives through compelling and innovative video creative
* You will brainstorm, write copy, develop motion graphic elements, produce, pitch, present work, share and incorporate feedback.
* Tackle problems and earn trust with your team, partners and stakeholders
* Work under pressure and within tight deadlines on multiple concurrent projects while being flexible to changing business and technical conditions
* Edit in both a supervised and unsupervised capacity
* Maintain edit bay for optimal editing workflow
* Maintain and organize backups of all current and ongoing projects.
* Properly deliver and QC for all formats
* Prioritize projects according to business and team priorities
About the team
The In-House AV Studio lives within the Prime Video-US Creative Production org that is the center of creative excellence for the PV Brand. We ideate, develop and execute bar-raising and evocative creative assets that amplify our Amazon MGM Studios Originals and Prime Video's unique identity and value proposition to drive brand love. We deliver an always-on and consistent marketing presence across all customer touchpoints.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years editing experience at an in-house agency or external creative agencies cutting trailers and promos
- 5+ years of driving compelling creative and execution at an agency or in-house creative team experience
- 5+ years working in theatrical and/or broadcast television/streaming spaces
- Experience working in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) as related to Premiere
- Strong experience in sound mixing and sound design software such as ProTools
- Must provide a current demo reel or link showcasing previous video editing work and participate in a Portfolio Review
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery
- Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)
- Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
