The Senior Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and timely full-cost project estimates, including materials and labor. Key responsibilities include maintaining a comprehensive database of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors; analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to generate accurate and profitable estimates; preparing requests for quotations; securing competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; and drafting proposals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for a wide range of projects, including conceptual, design-build, and competitive tenders, across all sizes and complexities.
- Independently calculate costs for materials, labor, and equipment using project plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Review detailed project data to accurately determine material and labor requirements.
- Compute cost factors to support management in planning, scheduling, bidding, vendor selection, subcontracting, and cost-effectiveness analysis.
- Estimate multi-trade projects with values of up to $50 million.
- Develop and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project teams to gain alignment and support for cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software (e.g., Accubid) to perform accurate and efficient cost calculations.
- Analyze current pricing and estimating practices to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
- Work with other estimators and the Division Manager to determine project indirect costs and overhead allocations.
- Mentor and support junior estimators, assisting with quantity take-offs and pricing strategies.
- Perform additional duties as required to support overall company goals and project success.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 15+ years of construction estimating experience in the automotive, data center, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree, trade certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural), MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and process drawings, with the ability to interpret schematics.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and Bid Depository regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with estimating software such as Timberline/Sage or Accubid.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Work standard computations relating to load requirements or wiring or electrical equipment. Leads initiatives to balance plant loading including switchgear installation and departmental loading

Use a variety of electrician’s hand tools, measuring equipment, and testing instruments. Utilizes testing equipment including multi-meters, load testing, and computers utilized in troubleshooting/programming of controls

Develop WOs within CMMS and execute on WO completion. Leads development and training on electrical/instrumentation PM/PdM development and execution covering instrumentation, motors/drives, and power supply

Troubleshoot, install, upgrade, and program of PLCs (programmable logical controllers) as well as other automation including SCADA and various other controllers/systems

Job Description
We are looking for a driven and collaborative client-focused Senior Project Engineer to grow with our team in the Buffalo, NY field office. You'll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll have an opportunity to work on active projects coordinating the progression of trades and design-field staff. Based on site with our client, you'll provide support to the Senior Project Manager with RFI tracking, contract document review, forecast and cost scheduling, preparation of change order review and review of payments. Services also include assisting D&C or consulting with the PM or EIC with payment application review, writing meeting minutes of project meetings, preparing regular reports, field inspections as requires along with other duties related to construction site activities. You'll be tasked with ensuring the project moves ahead to completion according to client standards. Through this role you will have the opportunity to work on multiple fast-moving projects and larger, long-scheduled projects. You'll bring your solid knowledge of project delivery to work on a diverse array of large and small programs. Your presence monitoring the activities of contractors and subcontractors performing craftwork to ensure QA/QC compliance and project quality, safety, and security requirements are achieved.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction related field
* 10+ years professional experience working on large building construction or civil projects valued above $10 million
* Knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, delivery systems, and components
* Experience or comparable training in inspecting large scale building construction projects
* Knowledgeable and experienced with Uniform Building Code
* Possess an OSHA 30 certification
* Understand Microsoft Office Applications, CPM schedules, Microsoft Project and P6 programs.
* Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Windows and Office applications and scheduling applications
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
* Professional certification, such as Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT), Engineer in Training (EIT)
