What You'll Do
  • 50% - Create, implement, track, analyze and optimize Paid Search campaigns in Google AdWords, Yahoo!, Bing, other search engines, and bid management platforms, including DS3, Marin, Kenshoo, and InsideVault.
  • 20% - Develop and employ successful bidding strategies and effective keyword management to hit target acquisition goals and efficiency metrics.
  • 10% - Assist in generating weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for all clients, and ability to recognize and troubleshoot data anomalies.
  • 10% - Help develop test design roadmaps, quarterly planning initiatives and business opportunity identification and implementation.
  • 10% - Lead portions of weekly reporting calls for clients, including communicating key metrics, goal attainment and optimization opportunities.

  • Exceptional analytical skills to measure the success of the SEM programs and to expand upon that success.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively in person and in writing.

Salary Range
$64,350.00 - $80,000.00

A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role. SEM Specialists analyze research, data or technology to understand user intent and uncover opportunities for ongoing optimization. Utilize SEO data to assist in the optimization of SEM and PPC campaigns in an effort to minimize CPC and increase CTR. Also partner with the marketing analytics team to use site traffic data to make informed decisions as it pertains to paid search performance.
Has proven experience and success managing PPC campaigns across Search Ads 360, Google and Bing. Works closely with the web and content teams to drive quality traffic٫ increase conversions and maximize ROI. Partner with Media Strategists to develop and implement the SEM campaigns for the organization. Improves search-related activities through ongoing analysis, experimentation or A/B testing. Performs ongoing paid keyword discovery, expansion and optimization. Researchs and analyzes competitor advertising keywords and links. Identifies appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports key metrics. Coordinates reporting dashboards and presents to key stakeholders.
Knowledge of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition. Understanding of trends and best practices in search engine marketing, bid management tools(SA360), call tracking tools (DialogTech/Invoca, Marchex), digital enterprise analytics tools (Google Analytics, Datorama), and SEO/SEM optimization tools (Google Search Console, Conductor, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz).
Ability to analyze and evaluate information and provide evidence-based recommendations. Must be able to organize and prioritize workload to meet a variety of conflicting deadlines. Proficient in a variety of technical and web-based platforms.
**Qualifications**
A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science, business information systems, programming, statistics or a closely related field is required.
Minimum of 3 years of professional level experience planning and implementing successful SEM strategies with experience in ecommerce preferred.
Certification in Google Ads required. Certifications in Google Ad Manager or Google Marketing Platform is preferred.

Position Summary:


We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Search Engine Team within our Product Engineering organization. The ideal candidate brings a mix of deep technical expertise and strategic leadership, particularly in the areas of Solr-based search, semantic and hybrid search systems, and collaboration with ML teams. This role is pivotal in modernizing legacy systems while driving forward-thinking, next-generation search capabilities.


You Will:

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Manage a 10-12-person remote team including two tech leads. Responsible for coaching, hiring, and performance management, while shaping an inclusive and growth-oriented engineering culture.


Search Strategy & Technical Execution:

  • Lead the transition from legacy Solr infrastructure to modern, semantic, and hybrid search solutions leveraging AWS. Drive roadmap planning in collaboration with product and ML leadership.


System Modernization:

  • Oversee and evolve the current search indexing pipeline and AWS infrastructure. Partner with internal experts to explore LLMs, vector databases, and semantic models for enhanced customer discovery.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product managers, architects, and machine learning teams to align on feature development, scalability, and performance.


Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure system uptime, stability, and quality across all stages of development and production. Proactively manage risk and incident response processes.

You Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience (minimum of 2 required)
  • Prior hands-on software development experience (Java/AWS preferred)
