+ The Server Administrator will work onsite within a distributed team environment. You will be responsible for provision, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems for a government agency.
Duties
+ Support clients by resolving complex system errors.
+ Perform computer functions to include: planning, integration, and verification for IT systems.
+ Recommend system configuration solutions and provide support to the web development team.
+ Draft system administrator manuals and maintenance service plans as resource articles.
+ Working with information security team to remediate issues.
+ Decommission and rebuild physical and virtual servers.
+ Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
+ Install and configure systems such as GIS infrastructure or asset management applications.
+ Develop technical articles regarding installation and configuration procedures.
+ Perform daily system monitoring, verification, and integrity tests.
+ Build scripts to automate backups, data migration and software updates.
+ Ensure file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
+ Recover software, hardware and digital files and recycle in accordance with policies.
+ Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
+ Repair hardware or recover software failures and coordinate with impacted constituencies.
+ Apply OS patching and upgrades on a regular basis.
+ Upgrade administrative tools and configure new services as necessary.

The Server Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Platform Management:

Summary

The SQL Server Administrator is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our SQL Server database infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data management systems. This position requires a strong understanding of Health Plan core administrative data (health care claims, members, providers, primary care assignment, etc.). This position also requires experience in data integration methods and warehousing practices to support reporting and analytics.

Essential Duties

  1. Database Installation and Configuration : Implementing and managing SQL Server instances and configuring them according to the organization’s requirements.
  2. Collaboration and Support: Work closely with Information Systems (IS) teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders to support data-related initiatives.
  3. Performance Tuning : Monitoring and optimizing the performance of SQL Server databases to ensure efficient operation.
  4. Automation: Develop Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources.

Job Duties

  • Performs / coordinates scheduled maintenance and supports release deployment activities.
  • Creates, refines, and automates recurring processes, tracks issues, and documents changes.
  • Shares domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
  • Provide support for critical production SQL Server data management processes.
  • Manages databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production data systems.
