Purpose: Keller Postman seeks a Settlement Attorney to support its practice of representing a broad array of clients as plaintiffs in complex litigation at the trial and appellate levels. The Settlement Attorney will focus on the efficient and compliant execution of complex mass tort settlements. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives on process, precision, and collaboration. You'll play a critical role in coordinating with internal teams, settlement administrators, lien resolution providers, and defense counsel to ensure the smooth implementation of settlement agreements across our docket.
This position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in our Chicago office and 2 days per week remote. The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus and benefits.
Essential Functions:
- Review Master Settlement Agreements (MSAs) alongside firm leadership, serving as a second or third set of eyes before finalization.
- Draft and manage execution of settlement documents, tracking key deliverables, deadlines, and signature logistics.
- Coordinate directly with settlement administrators and lien resolution providers to implement settlement terms and meet funding or threshold triggers.
- Partner with defense counsel to address settlement administration logistics and ensure alignment on timing and documentation.
- Prepare tailored or smaller-scale settlement agreements for internal review and execution.
- Conduct targeted legal research related to one-off settlement structuring or implementation issues.
- Maintain trackers, documentation, and settlement data using Excel and/or internal tools to ensure precision and auditability across the process, including coordinating with data team.
- Coordinate with internal client services team to administer outreach to clients to collect settlement documents.
- Strong drafting skills, particularly in tailoring one-off or short-form settlement agreements with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including using formulas, pivot tables, or other features to track deadlines, participant counts, thresholds, and settlement execution status.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple timelines, workstreams, and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with settlement requirements.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
- A high level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment, especially when navigating sensitive or high-dollar settlements.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in settlement administration, mass tort, product liability, or complex litigation environment,
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation or oversight of large-scale settlements, including coordination with defense counsel, third-party administrators, and lien resolution vendors,
- Familiarity with key documents and structures associated with mass tort or class action settlements, such as Master Settlement Agreements (MSAs), qualified settlement funds, and distribution protocols,
- J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar license in good standing,
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English,
- This job requires remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Job Description
The Pre-Processor is responsible for initial title order preparation and general clerical and administrative duties.Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)Enter orders and open filesEnter processing and breaking down filesOrder Title surveysPrepare documentsEnsure all files are scanned and recordedAssist with payoffs and HOA informationProviding office and reception support. Answer phone calls, maintain the lobby and front desk. Keep conference room clean and well stocked.Develop and implement organized filing systemsMaintain and order office suppliesSchedule appointments and events.Performance ExpectationsMeet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in allQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent combination of training and education Experience:2+ years of administrative experienceIntermediate level Microsoft Office experienceKnowledge and Skills:Excellent communication and customer service skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Wage: $21.75 - $25.00 hourly; actual wage is based upon education and experience.
