What you will do as a Production Setup Technician:

• Effectively disassemble, reassemble, adjust, program, and set up equipment as needed to produce the customers products within the desired specifications
• Effectively coordinate and perform tasks as they relate to production's needs for changing parts
• Clean, sanitize the kit and stage parts and equipment (overheads, pumps, etc.) as production needs to perform product changeover and set up in a timely manner
• Organize and stage non-sanitized parts for production changeover in a timely manner
• Ensure that parts and equipment are inspected after sanitation and prior to staging
• Follow all established GMP and safety standards
• Efficiently and safely follow and adhere to sanitation procedures
• Perform light maintenance duties as needed to perform the sanitation job
• Coordinate the clean parts room and help maintain the tank farm and sanitation room in a clean and organized manner
• Hook up totes and tanks to ensure fill gets to the production line

What you need to be a Production Setup Technician:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3-5+ years of prior manufacturing experience, preferably on high-speed conveyorized packaging lines
• 1-2+ years of experience in a maintenance/repair/setup position preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical and electromechanical skills
• Knowledge of how to recall, run, and store existing PLC programs (e.g., REB machine and Shorewood) or possesses the skills to learn this task
• Knowledge of all hand tools in both metric and English units
• Knowledge of all fasteners, metric and English, or possesses the skills to learn this task
• Must possess solid communication skills and read and write at the 6th-grade level
• Ability to follow directions and written processes and procedures
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and being able to work with fractions and decimals
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide comprehensive support for all production CNC turning and milling activities.
• Perform setups and changeovers between various production parts
• Uploading and maintaining the latest CNC programs to the company server (location to be determined by the Engineering team), ensuring that the program database is current for all active production jobs. Folders to be classified per cell/job number, and all obsolete programs to be moved to the obsolete folder for reference.
• Actively implement and/or suggest improvement ideas to reduce cycle times, reduce perishable tooling cost and scrap rates; communicate these improvements across all shifts.
• Monitor tool wear, report when tools are not reaching the desired piece-per-edge standards and suggest increasing/reducing tool life if wear is not as expected.
• Write, implement and maintain lathe gantry programs
• Manage and maintain the CNC lathe tooling area, including ordering of spares as necessary
• Perform or assist in preventative maintenance and routine machine / tooling checks.
• Train other employees in all aspects of CNC turning and milling to enhance team capabilities and ensure consistent operational quality.

CNC Setup Technician

Location: Shelby Township, MI
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (day shift, overtime may be available)
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Technician to support production by performing setups, program management, and tooling maintenance for CNC turning and milling operations. This role is hands-on and critical to maintaining efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machine setups and changeovers between various production parts.
• Upload, manage, and maintain CNC programs to ensure accuracy and consistency across active production jobs.
• Suggest and implement improvements to reduce cycle times, tooling costs, and scrap rates.

As we continue our growth trajectory, we are looking to bring on a Setup Technician to work at our Clinton, CT facility. Work schedule is 7am-3:30pm.

The Set Up Technician test fits and prepares exhibit materials and packs them back down after testing to ensure the onsite set up will go smoothly once the materials are sent to the meeting venue. Exhibit containers, existing components, signs and new components are brought to the test fitting area, and the set-up technician assembles the exhibit materials according to the provided plans.  Exhibit materials are then reviewed, revised if needed, numbered, and packed down to their respective containers.

The Setup Technician performs a critical function to achieving On Time in Full Deliveries and Returns and drives high levels of product quality to our customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Performs duties essential to setting-up units; including anchoring, block and leveling, interior and exterior seaming, VAPS installation, steps, canopies, and ramps.
• Additional installation and removal of skirting may be required
• Completes duties essential to the knock-down of buildings; including building shipping walls and securing exterior walls, separating buildings, disconnecting all utility and mate-line crossovers, securing all items for shipment, cleaning site, and removing all installations from site such as blocks, steps, anchors, ramps, abs pads and steel piers
• Performs service work for customer units on the road such as electrical and plumbing work
• Performs customer modifications
• Completes Work Orders and Service Orders via the Field Service Application
• Maintains the proper working condition of all tools and equipment used
• May be assigned all duties pertaining to Branch Service Tech or Field Service Tech as business dictates
• Forms and maintains good relationships with external and internal customers at all levels of the organization

Education and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Carpentry skills and a familiarity with construction trades are a must
• Set-up and knockdown experience preferred
• Some experience with customer relationship management preferred
• Previous management experience or working with other trades is a plus
• Some knowledge of computers is necessary and good communication skills are required for dealing with customers, sales people, contractors, shop personnel and co-workers
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
• A current valid license and a good driving record
