The Sheetmetal and Insulation Tradesman II is a developmental role designed for individuals seeking to gain
practical experience and technical skills in HVAC. As a Tradesman, you will work under the supervision of

The Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the field execution of HVAC and ducting projects by maintaining strong communication with general contractors and ensuring that all project components are in place for successful completion. This role requires the ability to initiate contact with the general contractor's project manager or superintendent, arrange site visits, and establish a collaborative working relationship from the start of the project. The foreman must ensure the job file includes a clean set of plans and specifications, final scope and proposal, estimated cost breakdown, and project schedule. Additional responsibilities include conducting turnover meetings, evaluating site conditions, requesting submittals, collecting drawings, performing material take-offs, identifying potential problem areas, and monitoring labor performance and project progress throughout the duration of the job.

Essential Job Functions
- With close supervision, fabricates parts, assemblies and antenna doublers from sheetmetal, stainless steel and composites using correct fasteners in accordance with the DUN-A-1 and related FAA approved documents.
- With close supervision, installs fabricated parts, assemblies and antenna doublers in specified aircraft locations in pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft. Performs basic troubleshooting skills.
- With close supervision, disassembles and reassembles aircraft interior, instrument panels and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following the installation of aircraft, using proper handling and storage techniques.
- With close supervision, performs appropriate corrosion control process upon completion of parts and fixtures before installation in aircraft.
- With close supervision, performs entry of a description of work completed on the work order and other required paperwork, documentation of all removal and installation of aircraft parts and accessories according to Installation procedures, and maintains personal training log.

Overview
The Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for conducting the installation of metal/board HVAC systems.
Responsibilities

Assembles and installs metal duct and fiberglass board.

Blue print reading and understanding of sheet metal shop drawings.

• Perform quality sheet metal fabrication work.
• Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions to carry out assignments.
• Work directly with engineering personnel and technicians on assigned tasks.
• Utilize and interpret drawings and sketches to determine how to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal
products.
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be fabricated using tools such as scribes, rulers,
calculators, and squares.
• Work with welders to weld or solder sheet metal components, when required.
• When welding or soldering is not required, fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with caulk, bolts, and metal
driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last.
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have
been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance.
• Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications.
• Ensure safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating
sheet metal.
• Operate forklift and man-lift equipment in the performance of work assignments as required.
• Work at elevated locations using systems/equipment such as ladders, man-lifts, scaffolding and other work
platforms.
• Operate appropriate shop mechanical equipment, systems, and tools in the performance of work duties.
• Clean hardware and components to the appropriate level prior to, during, and after fabrication/welding using
established procedures and specifications.
• Maintain equipment as necessary, including preventive maintenance, repairs, or replacement of parts.
• Execute all work duties in a skilled, safe, and technically acceptable manner.
