POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Storeroom & Shipping Assistant in manufacturing supports the smooth flow of materials and goods, assisting with tasks like inventory management, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. They are responsible for tracking inventory levels, preparing shipping documents, and communicating with suppliers, carriers, and the internal shipping team
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in tracking and monitoring inventory levels, ensuring accurate records and proper storage of materials and finished goods.
- Assisting in receiving material in ERP, completing requisitions, and cycle counting
- Coordinate shipments and deliveries, including scheduling, working with carriers, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws related to shipping, transportation, and storage.
- Assist with other administrative tasks, such as data entry, reporting, and maintaining records.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with tasks like loading and unloading, sorting, and stocking materials and products.
- Assist in resolving any issues related to logistics, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with various stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of logistics principles, shipping procedures, and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Some experience in logistics, warehousing, or shipping is often preferred
