We are seeking a Finishing/Shipping Driver to join our growing team. At Ellwood Aluminum we are dedicated to manufacturing exceptional products that make a real difference as an industry leader in aluminum castings, we take pride in producing top-tier products used across various industries. The offered pay rate for no experience is $17.50/hr but there is flexibility for experience.
Summary:
The Finishing Department Driver is responsible for operating trucks and trailers for necessary transportation and or dumping of material/scrap. This role will support the finishing department and other areas as needed. CDL is not required for this position, but truck driving experience is necessary to the role.
While the primarily responsibility is to work in and drive semis, flatbeds, box trailers and roll off triaxle trucks on the property, If you have finishing experience and/or prior manufacturing experience, specifically using band saws and lathes, it is helpful as this position assists in the Finishing Department as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities ( Include the following. Other duties will be assigned as deemed necessary by operations & staff management)
In addition to the following duties, this role will be cross trained to assist in the finishing department.
- Daily safety prechecks on all trucking equipment
- Safe and efficient operation of all truck equipment
- Transport of material between work areas
- Operation of roll off truck and dumping of scrap
- Communication with supervisor on product priorities for material transportation and flow
- Operate trucks in tight spaces
- During down times, this role will be required to assist in the finishing department
- Complete required documentation/paperwork
- Follow all Company policies and
- Semi and triaxle truck driving experience
