**Job Title: Shipping Specialist**
**Job Location: Torrance, CA**
**Salary: $22.50-$7.50/hr DOE**
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented **Shipping Specialist B** to support and manage Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory operations across the company. This position plays a critical role in the supply chain by ensuring that all materials and parts are received accurately, stored properly, transported safely, and delivered efficiently to the appropriate departments. The ideal candidate will have basic understanding of inventory control processes, logistics coordination, and material handling best practices. They will work closely with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Production, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless material flow and timely support to meet Stellant Systems production demands. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with inventory management software are essential for this role
**Responsibilities**
Typical duties and requirements are not meant to be all encompassing but a general framework of requirements/responsibilities for:
+ Receive and verify incoming shipments of materials according to packing lists and purchase orders
+ Perform general verification, receive, sort, secure and distribute incoming parts and supplies
+ Verify quantities, part numbers, and specifications against documentation and resolve discrepancies promptly
+ Provide internal customer service and communicate with internal stake holders
+ Properly label and store received materials in designated inventory locations, ensuring proper handling and preservation
+ Assist with all electronic inventory in accordance with ESD requirements
+ Perform cycle counts and physical audits of program/government furnished, and Millennium owned materials
+ Prepare, ship, and track outgoing shipments via FedEx and UPS
+ Make internal deliveries to proper inventory storage locations or drop points
+ Operate standard shipping/receiving warehouse equipment such as forklifts, power jacks, hand trucks and manual pallet jacks
+ Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.   • Unload inbound and outbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.

Working Conditions

General Manufacturing Environment:

Work is regularly performed inside the plant and occasionally in the surrounding grounds and facilities. Because of this, employees are frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain and snow. Lighting varies based on the season, weather and conditions in the plant. Employees regularly work near moving mechanical parts, material handling equipment and are exposed to ergonomic hazards, noise and dust.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Work is fast paced and employees are expected to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, therefore they must have excellent stamina, be in good physical condition and capable of handling objects up to 75 lbs in weight. Individuals must also have good eyesight, hearing and better than average coordination in order to keep up with production equipment. In addition to these requirements employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, climb, and walk about the facility and production areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Work with production manager/supervisor to create production schedules and distribute to line leader and/or production personnel.

Job Details:

Position: Receiving, Sampling and Shipping Specialist

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Starting Hourly Pay: $30.00/hr

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Computer Literacy & Internet Savviness: Comfortably navigate various software systems integral to our operations, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office suite, and shipping platforms.

Physical Ability: Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving incoming shipments and matching them to expected inbound orders.
  • Prepping tools to be used to take samples from the incoming products (cleaning implements, cleaning workstation, etc.).
  • Taking samples from incoming products (taking photos, cutting strips or pieces of products, weighing them, bagging them and tagging them with codes) + data entry + organizing those samples for outbound shipments.
  • Packing samples into envelopes and boxes for outbound shipments. Generating, printing and organizing shipping labels and documentation.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of clutter to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Joining as a Seasonal Inventory & Shipping Specialist means you’ll be part of the team that keeps operations flowing—moving inventory, scanning packages, and ensuring every order gets out the door accurately and on time. This role is perfect for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy active, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Overview

The Seasonal Inventory & Shipping Specialist supports all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving shipments, managing inventory, and preparing packages for outbound delivery. Training schedules may begin with reduced hours until production ramps up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound shipments and verify product counts against packing slips.
  • Move, organize, and replenish inventory (forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus but not required).
  • Perform regular cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy.
  • Retrieve packages from production departments and scan them into the shipping system.
  • Separate, sort, and stage packages based on shipping providers.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse and loading areas.
  • Work as part of a collaborative production team—while your primary role is inventory and shipping, all employees may assist in other departments as seasonal demand requires.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners and basic computer systems.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift and pallet jack operation experience a plus but not required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, or shipping/receiving experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Visual acuity for scanning, reading labels, and verifying product details.

Seasonal Schedules

  • Employment runs early–mid October through mid-December (exact dates depend on production volume).
  • Training schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
    1. Training schedules may begin with reduced hours until the season fully ramps up.
  • Our production schedule is scaled with holiday demand. Your preference for day and night shifts is used when assigning shifts as the season progresses.
