Position Summary: Under general supervision Shipping verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, shipping product for material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming and outgoing product or material; and arranging for transportation of products. This is a second shift position (3:30p - 11:30p with paid lunch).
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of four (4) years’ in the working in a fast pace shipping environment and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Required Skills:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare documents such as work orders and shipping orders to route materials.

- Determine shipping methods for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures.
- Pack, seal, label and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Ability to follow specific packaging required by customers.
- Communicate with management team for daily shipping schedule.
- Arrange any pick up request.
- Prepare products for shipment.
- Maintain all shipping records required by AS9100.
- Maintain stock for all shipping materials.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the individual to stand for the entirety of the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Compensation/Benefits: Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA plans, Hospital and Accident plans, Life Insurance, PTO, and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective 1st day of the month following 30 days of hire.
Pay Range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 hour based on experience.

+ Familiarity with packing slips, accurate computer data entry of information such as amounts and weights, preparation of bills of lading, creating labels including shipping labels for UPS software.
+ Create a daily shipping schedule for shipping, production, and lab to ensure accuracy of details and procedures on customers' behalf.
+ Formulate weight estimates and use that information to negotiate rates with all trucking companies, negotiating best prices for expedited shipping when necessary.
+ Create all necessary customs documents for international shipping to Canada, South America, and Mexico.
+ Troubleshoot last-minute customer order issues daily.
+ Serve as back-up for Bulk Coordinator when needed.

Job Description
Coordinate the shipping and receiving activities of all materials at the facility in order to support the timely shipment of products to best meet the needs of our customers.
**Core Responsibilities:**
+ Plan, schedule and prepare items for shipment, including but not limited to scheduling trucks for all inbound and outbound products.
+ Maintain shipping documentation and ongoing communication with customer service.
+ Coordinate and maintain safety, 5-S, inventory, shipping and receiving load to and from vendors.
+ Responsible for Forklift daily safety; coordinates dock equipment maintenance
+ Coordinate daily material movement processes
+ Manage releases and place orders for all supplies
+ Responsible for system transactions of materials
+ Leads materials cycle count program. Investigate discrepancies
+ Perform and participate in additional projects/responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Associate's degree or equivalent is a plus.
+ Three years warehousing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office. Prior experience with ERP systems.
+ Must have knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and knowledge of use of standard office equipment at a level generally acquired through 1+ years related experience.
+ Ability to obtain forklift certification required. Existing certification is preferred.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
+ Must have high level of interpersonal skills to direct the activities of material handlers.
+ Must be organized, able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task. Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various shipping problems.
+ Must have a high attention to details. Transaction accuracy and the accuracy of data reporting is required.
+ All other duties as assigned.
**Work Environment:**
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical office working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas. **Physical Demands:**

**Compensation Information:**
Pay Range: $23 to $30

- Ensure completeness and correctness of all orders filled
- Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the numbers, sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise and correct type of product is loaded and shipped
- Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with forklift machine
- Report quality issues on all products
- Ensure shipments are accurate and free of damage
- Tag any open and/or damaged boxes on racks for safety
- Use barcode scanning equipment to maintain computerized stock inventory
- Unpack received products, count, weigh and/or sort items
- Mark and/or tag containers with identifying information
- Communicate problems with forklift, structures, or materials
- Pick orders by reading pick tickets, move products to the shipping area and operate RF scanners during order picking
- Inspect and complete the pre-shift inspection for the Cherry Picker
- Operate forklift and reach truck equipment to maneuver products within the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as requested by Shipping Manager
- Assemble orders on pallet for shipment
- Carry or transport orders to staging locations
- Must know how to drive a cherry picker and a forklift
Qualifications:
- Must be able to effectively communicate with Management and co-workers

Working conditions:
