Position Summary

The Shipping Associate processes orders through the bulk-packing and shipping steps of our value chain, holding safety and quality/accuracy paramount while working efficiently to best serve our customers. Attention to detail is vital as orders are processed through our system and carrier systems. Shipping instructions must be followed, and any delivery term questions must be clarified (instead of making potentially costly assumptions). A logical approach to prioritizing work is key – processing orders based on need-by dates and strategic criticality. This role is very important, as it is a direct touchpoint with our customers (and the last one before orders departs).

The Shipping Associate reports directly to the Packing/Shipping Manager.

Essential Functions

  1. Ensure timely and accurate processing of order shipments in our MRP system and carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.).
  2. Match physical goods to sales orders to ensure the correct products are being shipped to the correct locations.
  3. Ensure delivery terms are being executed correctly, aligning what is detailed in our system to the specified Incoterm (the globally accepted standard for who covers carriage costs, insurance, and duties/import fees).
  4. Trigger invoicing of orders as they ship and through defined processes within our system, ensuring the correct customers are being billed.
  5. Bulk-pack shipping boxes per standard and logical practices, ensuring goods are adequately protected as they go into transit.
  6. Create, print, and apply labels using different label software and hardware.
  7. Coordinate pick-up schedules directly with carriers.
  8. Populate and email various customer-specific and company-internal reports.
  9. Help physically load orders onto carts or carrier trucks.
  10. Maintain assigned areas with respect to safety and 5S. This includes cleaning of assigned areas each day, consolidating trash containers, dumping trash into the compactor, and operating the compactor.
  11. Help restock and organize shipping supplies/material area as needed.
  12. Perform other duties as required and assigned; duties and activities may change over time.

  • Paint valves, products, orders as needed. Use of respirator and paint guns. Not just spray cans and touch up.
  • Prepares orders for shipping including end protectors, touch up paint, tagging, palletizing, and wrapping.
  • Reviews and ensures all paperwork is prepared and included with shipment
  • Coordination of third party freight and will call orders.
  • Use of forklift (propane and standing electric) and other warehouse equipment

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to help manage the efficient flow of goods in and out of our Houston facility. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring that our products are accurately processed, packed, and shipped, contributing to the success of our operations. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing the warehouse.
  • Receive material and products off vendors packing slip and place in designated area.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all outgoing products meet high standards.
  • Help manage inventory, including placing shipments in the correct locations and conduct cycle counts.
  • Pull pick lists for shipments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations from unloading and loading to inventory and cycle counts.
  • Familiarity with receiving products via packing slips and accurately storing shipments in proper locations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
