Summary :
The Shipping Lead plays a critical role in coordinating daily outbound operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipment of customer orders.
Job Summary :
As a frontline leader, the Shipping Lead supports the smooth execution of outbound processes by guiding team performance, ensuring compliance with carrier requirements, and maintaining documentation accuracy. The Shipping Lead works closely with clerks, pickers, packers, and quality control (QC) staff to maintain a smooth, organized shipping process. This role involves hands-on tire handling and contributes to the overall success of the warehouse by promoting safety, quality, and speed in alignment with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate the daily tasks of the shipping team, including clerks, pickers, packers, and QC staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate shipment of orders, including proper labeling and compliance with carrier requirements such as FedEx.
- Conduct quality control checks to verify order accuracy and packaging standards.
- Promote safety and adherence to operational procedures within the shipping area.
- Coordinate inventory flow within the shipping area and assist in timely replenishment.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse leadership and other departments to resolve issues and support operational goals.
- Provide guidance to team members to support productivity, engagement, and positive morale.
- Assist with training new team members on shipping processes, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including stock pickers, EPJs, stand-up forklifts, and sit-down forklifts.
- Support efforts to improve workflow efficiency and identify opportunities for reducing shipping costs.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience (Required)
- 1 year of experience in a team support or leadership capacity (Required)
- Experience operating warehouse equipment, including stock pickers, EPJs, stand-up forklifts, and sit-down forklifts (Required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software (e.g., RF Smart, NetSuite, spreadsheets, cloud-based tools) (Preferred)
- Familiarity with FedEx systems is a strong advantage.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred)
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift, push, or carry items up to 75 pounds regularly
- Frequent walking, standing, lifting, bending, and operating warehouse equipment
- Able to walk and stand for extended durations throughout the shift.

- PPE (including safety vests) is required and provided.

The Warehouse Worker must have unload and load experience in a safe manner. Knowledgeable of moving merchandise around the Warehouse, cycle count around the warehouse, ability to pull orders according to customer specifications. Computer, scanner, be able to interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner. Experienced helpful but not required with pallet jack, forklift (Reach). Training on several equipment will be provided on first week of assignment.

Standing, reaching, pulling, walking, twisting, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs. on a consistent basis daily.
Work independently, maintain a positive attitude under pressure
Have reliable transportation

About You
The person we are looking for is driven, motivated, and has a strong attention to detail. You must have previous forklift experience and inventory count experience. You are a valuable member of the team and a key player in the success of the business.
Position Snapshot:
A Material Handler is commonly expected to know how to make inventory transfers in computer, and will move materials (such as raw materials, finished product, etc.) in shipping areas using electric, gas, propane, or diesel forklift tractor, and various overhead and lifting cranes. Works daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working with risk lowered to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) specifically in an effort to achieve ZERO HARM so no injuries, illness or negative impact occurs to employees, property, the environment or the community. To be successful in this role you will:
- Obtain knowledge of safety equipment and safety procedures for shipping/receiving operations
- Maintain good housekeeping/neat work area
- Hold a valid forklift operator's license and overhead crane certification (certified in house)
- Accurately loads, unloads and bands material as required
- Stores material in proper locations
- Makes sub-inventory transfers in computer system
- Obtains pick slips, runs ship confirms, and bills of lading
- Empties and monitors scrap dumpsters; contacts scrap dealer when needed
- Stages rod at appropriate machines
- Cycle counts material, enters cycle count quantities, and runs cycle count reports
- Handles other duties as assigned within the shipping department as well as the production areas
- A minimum of two (2) years’ forklift and crane operational experience required in heavy material handling and moving responsibilities.
- High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to perform simple arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
