The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $40.93 - $65.72.** The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions
+ Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.

Qualifications
Education

Experience

+ Clinical experience as an OR Staff RN preferred.

Working Conditions
Lifting

+ Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.

+ Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.

The Short Stay Observation Unit became a true observation unit in 2020 with strict admission criteria. This unit is a 16 bed, level 1 and 2 cardiac telemetry unit. Admitted patients stay within 48 hours however, if further care is required, the team may transfer the patient to IP with MD approval. This unit collaborates with physicians, treats the adult population and works closely with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists. A Case Manager helps the team with the coordination of care and discharge planning. In the Short Stay unit, you can expect to see IP admissions occasionally, pre/postsurgical patients, medical patients and a variety of patient conditions and acuity. In this unit, they treat chest pain, transient ischemic attacks, asthma, syncope, mild congestive heart failure, and GI issues. Job Description

Purpose & Scope:

Across all levels, the registered professional nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of their assigned patients. The RN is also responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relevant to the delivery of nursing care. Are you seeking the opportunity to gain experience in acute care? Then the Short Stay Unit may be the right fit for you! This 27 bed outpatient observation unit works closely with our Hospitalist and Specialty providers to keep care plans in forward motion toward safe, customized but rapid discharge for each patient. This unit includes care for Observation status patients as well as extended recovery outpatient surgical and procedural patients.
**Job Responsibilities**
The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.
Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include:
+ Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding,
+ Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams,
+ Oral hygiene,
+ Specimen collection/testing,

+ Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.

**Job Overview**
Fairview is looking for a Nursing Assistant at the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN! This position is **64 hours** per two weeks on the **Night** shift, for 8 hour shifts, every other weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more.

**About this Unit:**
Are you seeking the opportunity to gain experience in acute care? Then the Short Stay Unit may be the right fit for you! This 27 bed outpatient observation unit works closely with our Hospitalist and Specialty providers to keep care plans in forward motion toward safe, customized but rapid discharge for each patient. This unit includes care for Observation status patients as well as extended recovery outpatient surgical and procedural patients.
**Job Responsibilities**
The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse.
Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include:
+ Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding,
+ Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams,
+ Oral hygiene,
+ Specimen collection/testing,
+ Position/ambulating,
+ Changing linens,
+ Promptly answers call lights.
Assists the nurse in monitoring patient condition.
+ Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation.
+ Places patient on/off monitors or equipment.
+ Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner.
Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.
+ Orients patient and their family to the environment.
+ Assures the patient's belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge.
Transports patients, equipment, specimen and supplies.
+ Assures patients get to appointments on time.
+ Uses transfer belt when assisting patients with transfers and/or ambulation.
Cleans sets up, and maintains rooms and equipment.
+ Orders and stocks supplies.
Accurately documents tasks performed on appropriate form.
Performs other tasks as needed.
**Required Qualifications**
**License/Certification/Registration**
+ Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
**AND ONE or more of the following:**
+ Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
**Or**
+ Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
**Or**
+ Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
**Or**
+ Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
