The Opportunity
PSVS has a rare and exciting opportunity for you, a visionary Cardiologist, to build the specialty service of your dreams and contribute to the culture and development of our hospital. You will have the support of the existing specialties at PSVS, including surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry and coming soon critical care. A fully operational 24-hour ER service, currently located in a separate facility, will be transitioned into our band new hospital to create the only specialty and emergency hospital on the Olympic peninsula.
We recently completed construction of ourstate-of-the-art, 21,000 sf facility in Gig Harbor, Washington.You will have your very own brand new cardiology suite with an echocardiology machine of your choice ease of treatment and comfort. As you develop your service you will have the freedom to order and build your instrumentation and tool set directly in line with your own preference!
Our hospital facility will also include a dedicated ICU with long-term mechanical ventilation, full in-house lab, 64-slice CT, MRI, ultrasound, in-house blood-bank and component therapy, I-131 therapy, minimally invasive surgery, flexible and rigid endoscopy, and fluoroscopy and more.

Responsibilities
Franciscan Digestive Care Associates, part of The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is recruiting a BC/BE general gastroenterologist to practice in the Tacoma Metro Area and affiliated regional hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collegial, multidisciplinary care environment with superb support staff. We pride ourselves in practicing high quality, evidence based, and patient centered medicine. Our ideal candidate will be an exceptional clinician with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork. Work includes a mix of outpatient and inpatient with shared call responsibilities.
The Center for Digestive Health in the great Puget Sound region is a destination program for the care of patients with digestive health concerns. Over 80 clinicians in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery provide over 76,000 clinic visits, 55,000 endoscopic procedures and 9,000 surgeries annually across Virginia Mason Franciscan Health locations. The center is founded on providing the best possible clinical outcomes to the patients it serves with additional focus on innovation through research as well as training the next generation of experts and leaders in the field. Infrastructure includes a clinical research and analytics team, in addition to academic support. Several clinical and research fellowships are housed within the center and clinicians are engaged as faculty in training medical and surgical residents.

- Daily Commitment:

Physical Requirements:
This position requires energy and willingness to perform physical tasks:
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds frequently.

- Walk and stand for most of the shift.
Basic Requirements:
