**Overview**
Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Practice Leader to join our office in Twin Cities, MN. This candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for our Wind Energy Consulting practice.
**Responsibilities**
You will lead the business development efforts with clients while building and managing your relationship with these key clients. Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principals; providing practice vision, business planning and strategy; establishing goals; building and maintaining positive client relationships; having open communication with your partners and team; and growing and leading your Energy practice.
The Senior Leader will manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and act as a positive leader and mentor. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
+ Extensive client contacts and relationships.
+ Registered engineer with 10 or more years of diversified experience in growing and leading teams.
+ Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.

Job Description

UL Solutions is seeking a Junior Engineer to join the Solar Energy Advisory Team.
The role manages execution and timely completion of solar energy projects by analyzing project scope, determining project specifications, applying details to solar resource and solar energy models, analyzing results for adequacy, and preparing reports for clients. This position will work under the direction of Solar Energy Team Leader.
+ Timely and efficient completion of high-quality solar energy analysis work.
+ Carry out pre-construction energy analyses, including:
+ Compilation, validation and analysis of meteorological data for solar resource assessments
+ Evaluation of project constraints and risks
+ Estimation of plant losses and calculation of assessment uncertainties
+ Generation of Energy Production Estimates
+ Creation of Energy Production Reports for Clients
+ Work effectively with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products while working collaboratively with other teams and business units when needed.
+ Collaborate effectively with Energy Team and Project Managers to answer Client questions after completion of work.
+ Understand and ensure company quality control standards are met.
+ Meeting with customers and attending or presenting at conferences.
+ University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program.
+ 1 year of previous experience valued in solar energy.
+ Minimal experience with PVsyst and other solar energy simulation softwares.
+ Experience in the performance assessment of solar projects preferred.
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary.
This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
