Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and analytical DSP Engineer to join our team in transforming raw sensor data into actionable insights. Our proprietary drill bit sensors collect high-frequency vibration and motion data during drilling operations. Your mission will be to analyze these signals, identify patterns that predict drill bit failure, and help us understand the root causes behind those failures.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop algorithms that interpret complex waveforms and improve operational efficiency in high-noise environments.
Key Responsibilities
 - Analyze vibration and motion signals from downhole sensors to detect anomalies and predict drill bit failure.
 - Develop and implement time-frequency analysis techniques including:
  ○ Fourier Transform
  ○ Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT)
  ○ Wavelet Transforms
 - Design and apply advanced filtering methods:
  ○ FIR/IIR filters
  ○ Adaptive filters
  ○ Band-pass filters for vibration/noise separation
 - Extract meaningful features from raw signals:
  ○ RMS, spectral energy, dominant frequency, entropy
  ○ Statistical moments, Hilbert transforms
 - Perform sensor fusion using data from accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers:

 - Build models for noise reduction and anomaly detection in high-noise drilling environments.

We are currently searching for full-time Sr. Level Digital Signal Processing Engineers that will design, develop and maintain complex systems. We meet customer and mission needs by leveraging cutting-edge research and technology, using small teams to rapidly get capabilities into the hands of the warfighter. Our technical efforts focus on signal processing, image processing, full-motion video, mission planning, and data analytics.

**Job Description:**
Blue Ridge Envisioneering (BRE), a Parsons Company, is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Sr. Digital Signal Processing Engineer (DSP) positions at our headquarters in Chantilly, VA.
We are currently searching for full-time Sr. Level Digital Signal Processing Engineers that will design, develop and maintain complex systems. We meet customer and mission needs by leveraging cutting-edge research and technology, using small teams to rapidly get capabilities into the hands of the warfighter. Our technical efforts focus on signal processing, image processing, full-motion video, mission planning, and data analytics.
As an integral part of our team, you would work on one or more efforts at a time, assisting with multiple parts of the development process, including design, development, testing and deployment. Since we deal with specific customer needs, it will be necessary to understand the problem, to utilize methods from a potentially wide variety of domains, produce functional solutions, and see the efforts through to completion. Opportunities to cross-cut technical areas and hone adjacent skills abound.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Must have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline (2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree). Master's degree may be considered equivalent to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
