Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Site Design Lead Engineer to join our renewable energy team. The Site Design Lead will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control, and completion of civil engineering design on renewable projects, with a specific focus on Solar projects. This role requires a strong leader who is dedicated to delivering high-level professional services to our clients.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership
- Lead the overall direction and coordination of civil engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
- Manage project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
Solar Design and Implementation
- Oversee the design and implementation of Solar projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate BESS solutions into renewable energy projects.
Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and quality control processes for civil engineering designs, including BESS components.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of project deliverables to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Project Execution
- Manage the execution of civil engineering design activities, ensuring timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Technical Analysis and Problem Solving
- Perform technical analysis related to civil engineering and BESS design, addressing any engineering challenges that arise.
- Develop innovative solutions to optimize project outcomes.
Client Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns related to civil engineering and BESS activities.
- Prepare and present project proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all civil engineering designs, including BESS components, comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards related to renewable energy and BESS.
Team Leadership and Development
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members in civil engineering practices and BESS design.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for civil engineering and BESS activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in civil engineering design and BESS implementation.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in renewable energy and BESS technologies
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, additional certifications in renewable energy or project management are a plus.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and engineering analysis tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of developing innovative solutions.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and team members.

**Job Description**
Olsson provides multidisciplinary, preliminary, and construction design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types.
The Client Manager role serves as the main point of contact for a specific client, a division of a larger client, or a targeted client at the team level, establishing solid relationships, building and maintaining a strong rapport, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. The Client Manager oversees client service management for the team, ensuring services that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Manages a key client account within the team or across multiple teams by serving as the main point of contact and working closely with project managers to lead project execution plans.
+ Develops a deep understanding of the client's business, as well as the industry, to present growth strategies, identify new opportunities, and cross-sell services to the client.
+ Creates communication plans unique to the client to ensure communication needs are satisfied by providing regular updates and reports to the client on the status of their projects.
