The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $133,800.00 Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 10%. **Job Description**
**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly motivated Lean Intern to join our manufacturing operations team. This internship offers hands-on experience in Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. The intern will play a key role in standardizing work processes, supporting kaizen activities, leading problem-solving activities, and driving operational excellence across production lines.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Lean Intern, you will:
+ **Conduct Time Studies** : Observe and record cycle times for various operations to establish baseline data.
+ **Document Standard Work** : Create and maintain Standard Work Charts and Standard Work Combination Tables for multiple production lines.
+ **Support Kaizen Events** : Actively participate in at least one kaizen team, contributing to problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
+ **Identify and Implement Improvements** : Analyze assigned areas for waste and inefficiencies, propose solutions, and assist in implementation.
+ **Lead and Support Problem Solving** : Facilitate and contribute to structured problem-solving efforts using Problem Solving Process (PSP) and A3 methodologies, ensuring root causes are identified and countermeasures are effectively implemented.
+ **Visual Management** : Develop and update visual controls and performance boards to support daily management systems.
+ **Engage with Operators** : Collaborate with frontline team members to validate standard work and ensure sustainability of improvements.
+ **Support 5S Initiatives** : Assist in organizing workspaces and maintaining cleanliness and order through 5S audits and improvements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
+ Minimum 3.0 GPA
+ At least Sophomore standing at the time of application
+ Must be returning to school at the conclusion of the internship
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Familiarity with Lean tools such as 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and PDCA.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
