Overview

The Knowlej School Professional Development Facilitator is a passionate, mission-aligned educator, speaker, or coach who will deliver transformational training to school teams using the Knowlej 3Rs (Re-Engage, Restore, Reward) and 4Ps (Presence, Participation, Progress, and Purpose) frameworks. This is a temporary contract-based role, perfect for dynamic educators and consultants ready to drive systems change in K-12 schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging professional development (PD) sessions to K-12 school staff, administrators, and educators around Knowlej's proven frameworks.

  • Facilitate in-person or virtual workshops on restorative culture, student re-engagement, and educator empowerment.

  • Adapt and align content to each school's needs while reinforcing the Knowlej model with fidelity and energy.

  • Promote the Knowlej mission of combating chronic absenteeism and driving student success.

  • Collaborate with school leadership teams to support buy-in, culture-building, and real-time solutions.

  • Provide ongoing feedback to Knowlej leadership to improve and iterate on PD offerings.

  • Maintain a professional, branded presentation standard and uphold the culture of excellence.

Requirements
  • Strong background in K-12 education, instructional coaching, or school leadership.

  • Exceptional facilitation and public speaking skills—able to command a room with presence and clarity.

  • Deep understanding of culturally relevant pedagogy and trauma-informed practices.

  • Familiarity with school systems, challenges, and opportunities for transformation.

  • Reliable transportation if travel to school sites is needed (primarily in Los Angeles).

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Knowledge of restorative practices, SEL, MTSS, or DEI is a plus.

We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for a Manager of PA Professional Development to lead and elevate PA education across inpatient and outpatient settings at our 11 campuses.  This is a non-patient facing role focused on advancing PA clinical practice through professional development.

In partnership with our world-class academic medical centers—Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medical Center—you will join the PA Services Office and collaborate with PA teams and hospital departments to promote and advance PA practice. 

As the Manager of PA Professional Development, you will: 

  • Design, implement, lead and evaluate comprehensive educational programs for PAs, including didactic sessions, e-learning, and in person simulation-based training. 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of PA professional development programs.
  • Contribute to the strategic advancement of PA education and practice across the institution. 

Required Criteria

  • Licensed Physician Assistant  
  • NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant 
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience  
  • 3-5 years’ experience in hospital operations, project management or teaching in formalized programs.
  • Experience with education development and delivery, including simulation training

Preferred Criteria

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator
